The Almighty cannot be hurt, insulted, injured or glorified by man who does not even know what the following morning has in store for him. The question of "right" and the "wrong" in-between God and human being are matters purely between the two alone. The job of the Gurukkal, Poojari or the Namboodiri is to perform his ordained duty in the sanctum sanctorum and nothing else. The entire episode has left a very bad taste in the hearts of so many believers who are afraid of injuring the feelings of even an insect and what to talk of injuring a fellow human being like Vayyalar Ravi? I am really sorry that this should have happend to anybody at all. Earlier Jesudas also had to undergo more or less a similar ordeal. I don't think there is anyone who can match Shri Jesudas' devotion when he sings songs in his melodious voice in praise of Shri Krishna. With so much of politics these days even in matters divine, it is very discouraging to visit Temples. On the one hand you have anti-Hindu communists and DMK politicians like Karunanidhi who are bent upon destroying Hindu Temple endowments made by Kings and Emperors of the past. On the other you have overzealous ignoramuses such as the high priests of the Guruvayur temple bent upon destroying Hindu way of worship. Such acts only strengthen the hands of anti-Hindu forces. But then who are going to educate these foolish priests on these lines? Even if someone does, will they understand?
