Mumbai - A dead city
by Manish Saraswat on Jul 13, 2006 09:28 AM

The much hyped 'spirit' of Mumbai is a myth created by media and politicians. I feel Mumbai is a dead city. There was no anger, no anguish, no sorrow on the faces of people when they were interviewed. Mumbaikars go on repeating that Mumbai remains uneffected and thats what precisely the terrorists want. When there is no backlash, no punishment, no 'revenge' taken, these terrorists are bound to enjoy the situation and attack again and again. This is what we have seen in the past. Whenever there is a terrorist attack, there are a lot of local guys who help them. Once these local guys are made to understand that after helping the terrorists, they cant go scot free, the situation will change automatically. Take the example of Gujarat. After the Akshardham attack, there was no single attack on the citizens. Why ? Because the local contacts of the terrorists know that if they support any attack, they wont be spared. If Mumbaikars keep on offering their second cheek for the second slap, the will be obliged again and again by the terrorists. This has happened in the past and it will go on in the future. MUMBAIKARS....ITS TIME TO AWAKE
