RE:Democarcy for people
by Ashok Gobindram Lulla on Jul 19, 2008 10:18 PM

A bit awkward this, having to write at length. I guess you missed the irony in my statement!
We have potholed roads, our cities get flooded
today, the way they never did in 1947.Outside Mumbai, even cities like Pune face power-cut. Incidentally, Sify carried a news report today quoting WHO that a full 1.2 billion people in the world do not have basic toilet facilities. And 625 million of these are in India, who are faced to defecate out in the open. That is the gift of Congress. Ignore the basics, and shout about a nuclear deal that won't make an effing difference to people's lives. Except, of course, the Maino family, the AEC bureaucrats, our 'Industrialists', who will be waiting to lap up the crumbs that American nuclear companies will toss out, the Samajwadi Party and sundry others.
Oh, as for money, how many middle-class couples can afford to buy a decent 2-bedroom house in a metropolitan city. Baki logon ki to baat hi chhodo.
