Cola controversy
by S. S. Kumar on Aug 14, 2006 03:26 PM

From the recent controversy, fwg things are clear:

a) Cola companies have done nothing over the last 3
years to control the pesticide level in their
drinks. They, perhaps, think, they can get away
with whatever they do, being MNCs.
b) It is very obvious the water they use is contamina-
ted in most parts of India and they are getting
undue exposure for no fault of their own. Perhaps,
this problem is not being faced by them elsewhere
in the world.
c) If they want to continue doing business in India,
they will have to first "treat" the water before
starting the production to limit such pesticide
residues.
d) As expected, the cola companies are bringin press-
ure thro' the back door by having the US Government
drop hints that further investment may not come to
India. I feel the Indian Government should not
buckle under pressure as the health of an entire
future generation is at stake.

Regards,

Kumar
