There is no Need
by amit on Oct 24, 2003 01:31 PM

As, i think there is no need to increase no. of IIT's.

But i doubt why we are using the collective term IIT's, not IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai and so..

Are all IIT are in the same league and other institutes are far less than them in each field.

If we go through the ranking's issued by India Today each year, there are other institutes also in TOP 10.

and some of them have ranking's more than IIT's.

If we go in to detailed analysis, these TOP 10 institutes have very tough competition each year and each of them are good and THERE ARE REC'S THERE IN TOP TEN.

It's no doubt REC peopele haven't proved themselves till yet, it's not like that they will not..

IIT's were set up in 1950's and REC's were planned later and on the different term's, so every sought of funding was to the IIT's first and then REC's.

I gone through the message's posted by some people,

I want to raise one question?

How many of IIT'ans proved themselves.

very few... so why other r using the tag of their Big brother's.

I don't want to make this as a heated debate, but we have people like Narayan Murthy( undergrad banglore univ),premji, ambani's, birla's with no IIT degree.
