Re: Increasing no. of IITs
by B.D.Joshi on Oct 18, 2003 02:44 PM

The IITs have established their reputation by the

hard work by both the faculty and ( probably top

5% of the aspiring ) students over decades. It has

involved a very high level of integrity in admission,

evaluation etc on the part of the faculty members.

This is now seen as a BRAND. No one without putting

in what has gone into making the BRAND should try

snatch their gains. This is unfair to the IITs.

Instead of trying to change the Reg. Eng. colleges

as IIT let them be encouraged to create an environment

in which each faculty member and student improves

his performance and helps to raise the quality of

instruction and learning at the institution. In

one/two decades they themselves may become

an established BRAND. Today there are many colleges

at the established Universities which have carved

out a name for themselves.

SO NO TRANSFORMATION OF REG. ENG. COLL. AS I I T s.
