Our Honarable President had come to IIT Bombay once and when one typical IITian asked him how he was trying to stop the "cream of India- the IITians" from leaving the country for jobs. He replied - "Let them go. We have our thousands and thousands of Science, Arts and Commerce graduates coming out from other so many institutes of India. Those are our gems. They will work for India." I was glad our President gave a good reply. He realises that its not IITs which are only good, as is the hype created. IIT students work hard and hence they are good. Professors (except few, who are good) have no work there to do, as the students can and do learn everything on their own.
Its nice that Mr. Joshi is interested in improving the quality of education. But not by naming more institutions as IITs will the quality improve.
He can do it by
1.teaching human values to all people in educational institutions. IIT Professors are so busy in making money and in getting fame, they are badly lacking human values. I strongly suggest Mr. Joshi take some concrete steps about it.
2.Making the educational institutions more transparent, so that demoralising elements are eliminated.
