There is no question that more IITs are the order of the day. IITs have always been the most sought after of institutions in India. However people who miss out on that entrance test, fiercely as it is contested, are not definitely worse. It is just that it's not their day or maybe due to the lack of a mark or so. Hence it makes sense to give a chance to the burgeoning talent across India. Our so called second string is as good and sometimes better than many of the IITians and definitely better than many around the world. This initiative augurs well for the all-round development of education in India.
