The addition of more IIT's is going to dilute the present competiveness present and does nothing more other than giving special name to the other people. The 7 IIT's already present means about 4.5k seats already present which is a huge number and the quality cut off can be seen from the IIT JEE scores and if there is competition even beyong 5k students, then the government can decide if more people can be accredited with the distinguishen of graduating from one of these top class institutions.
