I'd say that merely increasing the number of iit's is just like what you call....total quality mgmt....well if quality has to be maintained then the quantity should be checked....better than making new iits ...it would be better to come up with specialized institutes for specialized scientific fields...well talking of increasing the numbers....if 12 IIT's why not 12 IIM's and 12 AIIMS too and 12 NDA's also if that could help...coz if the quality will remain the same then might be need not worry.....Huh..?...anyway I'd say "Govt of India" just freaked out.....After all.....
