When the husband is struggling to make both ends meet, it's quite possible the wife's needs and happiness get relegated to the background. However, people of no significant wealth can still be quite contended with what they have. Conversely, rich people may still not be happy as they might be busy chasing more. So contendedness is the key-word, not wealth.
