FIGHT TERRORISM LIKE A DEVELOPED COUNTRY
by Rajesh on Dec 06, 2008 08:52 PM

India suffers from terrorism because India is not a developed country. Three main reasons I see are lack of leadership, lack of deterance and lack of law and order.
Lack of leadership
We have leaders in military and private sectors but not in politics. We need to change the political system. Merge all political parties into three national parties. Have each party present 5 leaders for PM position. Indians get the chance to vote directly to choose their leader. Competition will bring better quality and efficient leaders.
Lack of deterance
Terrorists act with impunity without fear of retaliation and consequences. Lack of response every time means we plant the seeds for a terrorist attack next time. India will never be 100% immune to terrorism. But a good anti-terror doctrine and retaliation to any attack will cause deterance and upheld the dignity of the nation.
Lack of law and order
We are all to blame for it. We all need discipline. Department of homeland security, strong interaction with minority community, network of agents in foreign counties, quick reaction teams in each town and city is needed.
