For the benefit of all genuine cricket lovers.........
by Bhasmasur on Feb 12, 2008 06:54 PM

Ritwik Bhuyan has put an interesting list of the top 5 ODI and test batsmen of all time....

And i can vouch for the fact that this list is shocking and extremely biased...

Simply put, if an Indian cricketer had been as mediocre as Bevan or as profligate as Deano, his name would not have been even in the top 20 of all time.....

Bevan and Dean Jones find their names in the top 5 ODI list simply cos of the fact that they are from Australia.....they just don't deserve it...there have been far better batsmen.....

And all those who are questioning my credentials; i can challenge any of you to have a proper debate with me and then i'll show who is the tyro and who understands the game!!

I have seen michael Bevan thru his career...i have seen Deno from the time he played that heroic 210 at Madras in 86...

Bevan :
1) Complete inability to face the short ball
2) Hopeless against the moving ball
3) Inability to hit big sixes or fours
4) Flat track bully

What then explains his astounding average??
1) The fact that he batted at no.6 - Ponting, gilly, Waugh, Lehman would have sftened the ball by that time...he would get a flat track and a soft ball to work away...no lateral movement..nothing...
2) cos he batted so low, he had an etraordinary number of notouts....something like 30% of his total innings...

Deano was a flat track bully and had a keen eye for the spinner......fine player but not in the same league as Ganguly, Jaya and Inzy and Ponting.....
