It seems the ICC has got a varied set of rules and regulations when it comes to matches in which India and in some cases Pakistan are involved. Over the past we have seen umpteen instances when for trivial reasons our players are pulled up, fined and had the whole rule book thrown at them, whereas players from Australia, England and now West Indies are let off the hook!!!! The notable point is that the ICC (and their authorised representatives) have the gall to justify their points in such cases. Lara's is a wonderful case to point. In no circumstance, regardless of how frustrated a player is, it does not justify him snatching the ball from the umpire! Yet the ICC does just that...speaking on behalf of Brian Lara!!! Must be bcoz they are spooked by his demi-god status there!!! Though apartehid has been officially abolished in the world, the ICC still practices it with impunity. It is high time our BCCI takes up the cudgels in this matter, otherwise we will have to have our noses rubbed in the dirt in every instance.
