Media and unions must be kept out of IITs
by auryas (View MyPage) on Feb 13, 2018 11:25 PM

Media filth should be kept out of IITs as much as politics , unions and this 'peaceful protest ' sh&t.

IITs are not some c.oncentration camps. They are top grade tech hubs in the world managed by best of brains in the country.

Some sh^^ty mess problem should not be exaggerated by media and get involved like some defenders of free world.

The students involved should be suspended and action should be taken against them for causing disrepute to IIT.

MEDIA SHOULD NOT INTERFERE IN IIT
by Ghanshyam sengar (View MyPage) on Feb 13, 2018 09:52 PM

In 1970, in IIT kanpur, elections were held for students union but there were rules which are not followed any where in any college or even in Lok Sabha polls. The rules were , students can not use any printed pater for electioneering. They have to write with there hands on papers and then they can use those paper posters for electioneering. Students were not allowed to use any mike for making public speeches. They have to talk to students verbally only without using any mike or loudspeaker All these systems were in India's favour only but no one in India wants to follow rules which are in favour of this country.

The students involved must be rusticated
by auryas (View MyPage) on Feb 13, 2018 09:33 PM

Unionism, politics and the media filth of this country must be kept at a distance from IITs.

The students involved must be rusticated and expelled so that such things do not occur again.

by auryas (View MyPage) on Feb 13, 2018 09:31 PM

What is this PEACEFUL PROTEST thing ? Media must desist from interfering in matters related to IITs which are premier tech hubs of INdia.

If these kind of protests encouraged, they will become SH^T holes like JNU

Students MUST be expelled
by auryas (View MyPage) on Feb 13, 2018 09:16 PM

IITs arepremier institutes which are free from this kind of unionist disease.

If the students have problem, they should approach the warden of the hostel or resolve the issue through the mess committe.

If this unionism creeps into the premier institute , it will go Dogs.

get a dabba from home
by yahoo (View MyPage) on Feb 12, 2018 10:21 AM  | Hide replies

Sorry, but these are not even issues.

If the institute allows a canteen and there is a cockroach found, then these same students will do big dharna and strike. If the institute puts buses these same students will do eve teasing on those buses. The institute does not want to get into the headache of food and transport.

I had personally gone and spoken to the state bus transport and requested them to put new buses to my college in writing and gotten it done. These are issues that will be there in new colleges, the students should learn to deal with the problems rather than do dharnas.

And half of india take dabbas to colleges and offices, what is the problem if these students also take dabbas to college?

@yahoo:

Your approach to this issue is illogical and cynical.

Most students staying at the hostel are not even from that town or that State. How do you expect them to bring dabbas?

As for your amazing logic that links bus convenience to eve-teasing: perhaps you'd like students to be banished from buses all over India based on your firm belief that every student who uses a bus service indulges in eve teasing.

A dharna is logical?
what is so complex about getting a dabba with food in your bag to college? you don't have to get home food, there are enough student mess options or hotels around.

please don't twist my words. I pointed out the kind of risks which make a college choose not to provide transport or canteens. If the college provides them, then they have to take responsibility for safety and security etc. The college feels it should not spend that effort outside the campus, and they have the right to take such a decision, since these are optional conveniences.
Nobody ever does a dharna for bad education, I observe.

The surrounding village has a population of maybe few thousands. Does the institute want students should starve and die? If this is the case, why have a hostel system at all? Let students stay wherever they want and have a proper bus service (whether free or paid).

Dabbawalas that used to operate have been stopped from entering campus due to "security concerns". This is not a new college, the campus has been around since 2014.

There is no bus stop, the surrounding area and road to Indore (Khandwa Road) is having an average of 2 deaths every day (check newspapers) whether due to accident or crime. I guess you are happy to let your employees risk it because you can't be bothered?

Safety of citizen is the responsibility of the state, and these are students. Institution cannot shirk it's responsibility, neither can you or me....

As for eve teasing, please note that police records of Indore district will reveal that not a single student of IIT Indore has indulged in such things. All the students are disciplined enough to come in top 1-2% of GATE/JEE toppers.

This dabbawallah doesn't seem to anything about IIT or student community. Talking through his hat. Let his daughter go to a college, starve and walk 8 km home on a dark rainy night. He will sing a different tune.

We use to take them out and demand the extra sauce for that and our water tank cockroaches lived peacefully below the lid. Grow up students.

IIT Indore must concentrate on studies
by vasai (View MyPage) on Feb 12, 2018 09:57 AM  | Hide replies

IIT Indore university must concentrate on giving good education to student and not on food, clothing and traveling etc. It is not business/work of education institute to run a canteen or eatery stall.

In struggling for food and transport, students r losing hours of study.

The campus has no engineering tool store. If an engg. student wants to buy things to build his project, he or she must travel 30 km on a "TOURIST BUS". Does that sound good to you?

Is that the image government wants to show all the private colleges?
