Secularism with secular ethos
by R ponnabalam (View MyPage) on Jun 01, 2017 08:21 AM

Common man sends his children to school so that they can earn an income as the they grow up.No one thinks of- a handful rich &educated may be an exception-learning for learning at that age of the children.Education was (and is) taken as a gate way to employment If a religious set of people -not community mix not community with religion-strong in business chose business itself for livelihood they didn’t choose to send their children to school. If some didn’t send girl child to school due to religious dictates they did it because of religion. No one denied admission to anybody in Govt. schools anywhere in India,Only Religion run school can deny it. To say people of some religion are less educated can not be to blame others Those people must accept it as the result of their thinking. This Secular something with a religious ethos is no Secular.Secular something should have secular ethos.THE PROBLEMS ARE THERE. Correctly diagnose the reasons for that.Problem would be solved.R,Ponnambalam

Protest it
by Shyam Sunder (View MyPage) on May 31, 2017 09:12 PM

As a mark of protest, non-fasters should carry food packets from outside, including pork, to the campus and celebrate food eating festivals in public.

The country is hopelessly hopeful
by R ponnabalam (View MyPage) on May 31, 2017 08:37 PM  | Hide replies

"It is sad that religious angle is being given to this entire issue."That is the disease India suffers from .Our Secualarism- religion wants to categorize every act of commission and omission of all "out of correctness-box" thinking and acting elements in terms of Religious denomination. The Press plays second fiddle to it.No underlying societal issues, failure in maintaining law and order, law maker's , muscle men, rich men's influencing interest leading to all these despicable acts are pushed under the carpet. The Govt.(all Govts' thus far) is equally responsible. The Govt. too makes &shows partiality . The Country is hopelessly hopeful to come out it R.Ponnambalam

Vinay Varshney, a BJYM leader, had alleged that by denying breakfast and lunch to Hindu boarders, the university authorities were ‘indirectly compelling them to observe fast during Ramzan’..We are in India .BE TOLERANT INDIAN AND GO HUNGRYRy.PONNAMBALAM

Remember, if they do such things, that is secular. If you do such thing, it is Intolerance. Tell NDTV that this is happening in AMU in Secular India.
