Recently,in Bangaluru at Gokhale hall, previous Chief election commissioner when asked whether EVMs can be manipulated? he expalined it is not possible at all. If some body can do it he deserves Nobel prize!
EVM issue is very serious..i was following 2009 general elections very keenly....Scams, black money, terror, economic slowdown and low job creation, farmers suicide, etc. were huge issues.. NDA's main campaign was around good governance..in this backdrop the results were shocking.. Another pertinent point here is the time taken to declare results..EC website says it takes just 2-3 hours to declare the results using EVM's as compared to 20-30 hrs for ballot counting...but the results are taking 8-10 hrs..why? in recent Delhi assembly elections final results came after 6-8 hrs an an average and for few seats in the evening!..
And the television channel mentioned in the article vis-a vis cash for votes scam is CNN-IBN (Whatever it takes!)..the broadcast was actually delayed for a few days and was done in a hush hush manner..of course with some EDITINGS!!!

Excellent analysis! Congrats to you and Rajeev Srinivasan!Hope voters learn their lessons and vote wisely in the next elections.BJP is the best bet for us!
In 1989, Rajiv Gandhi got 209 seats in LS and preferred to sit in opposition saying he has lost the election. In 1996, Vajpayee falsely claimed majority in LS and occupied PM's chair for 13 days. Till date no other party has ever got 209 seats on its own!

Welcome back, Rajeev Sir. Good to see you back again. You missed a very important fifth constitutional coup. Superstar Chiranjeevi and his Praja Rajyam. Remember what happened in Andhra Pradesh, how the TDP vote got split, spring-boarding the Congress to power. It was Andhra which decided 2009. Needless to say. Praja Rajyam got merged with the Congress and the Superstar became a Minister. A sixth constitutional coup is getting ready. Using taxpayer's money to give a special status to Bihar and bring Nitish Kumar to the Congress side. A seventh constitutional coup would be to use government machinery such as the CBI and Income Tax Department to keep two important players from Uttar Pradesh in check and force them to support, even though they can't stand each other. An eighth coup would be using meddlesome governors in "enemy" states, and slowly wear down legitimate governance. Maybe you could bring out a separate article on forthcoming constitutional coups.
