Alarming

Thanks to Mr.Kothari for the effort to dig out the hidden dangers of nuclear establishments. It is time to order an in depth investigation by the Apex Court or such independent Constitutional entity on these deaths. The dangers behind the nuclear profession is more important than the planned N-Projects. The UPA is adamant to go ahead with the N-projects as per the nefarious Ndeal. The precautionary measures taken by present nuclear establishments are flawed. But the coming plants will be more dangerous. It is programmed to complete the projects within time limits. When there is specific time schedules it is natural that safety aspects get diluted. Read the news The most complex, impactful worm'Last updated on: October 5, 2010 07:51 IST rediff. If anything happen to the nuclear plants what would be the result. Unpredictable!!! It is time TRUE Indians and TRUE Congress men to sit and think over. Do not go an inch further on the N-deal. The proposed plants are 1955 designs. These old designs do get dust in the shelf of Npowers. Now we Indians buy it on huge payments. Google and read ‘India Has Now A Nuclear Burden To Carry by N.S.Venkataraman’ and ‘“Africa's uranium business turns risky Published: Sept. 24, 2010 at 11:55 AM”. India is jumping into n-tech for death of Indians in India and bloody fight abroad.

Read the investigative report in the Business Week dated 2.10.2008 "Dangerous Fakes How counterfeit, defective computer components from China are getting into U.S. warplanes and ships". The American military faces a growing threat of potentially fatal equipment failure—and even foreign espionage—because of counterfeit computer components used in warplanes, ships, and communication networks. These chips are imported from China which they remove from old equipments. A thriving business is building up in China in this trade. If our Nuclear plants are built under BOT basis they can use these obsolete chips in the MODULES which are sealed and so we can not see and verify. How can the people working in the erection certify the quality of the materials used to arrange payments? If anything goes wrong in future the axe will fall on them. Poor men!!
Also google read "Babcock & Wilcox is promoting a different kind of reactor, a smaller, “MODULAR” version that could be built in a factory and shipped to the place where it would be used”

Look at the present scenario. Read .."Global crisis: Positive spinoffs for India".rediff. Several projects reports are getting ready. The availability of Uranium through out the life of n-plants is not considered. And also the price variation of Uranium in the years to come is not taken into account. The PPA is not pragmatically prepared. Unit cost of N-energy is taken as Rs2/-. I think it is very low. The subsidy allowed by government is also considered for calculating the energy cost. Life of the N-plant is taken as 60 years which is wrong. The life is only 30-40 years. The decommissioning cost is assumed as 2 paise per unit generated. Decommissioning cost has no connection with the energy produced. It is a single unit for every project.... cost is same whether it runs for 60 years or for 10 years. To know the present rate--- google and read BBC “Group chosen for Sellafield job” , and “Report: Nuclear waste disposal will cost US $96B”. We must maintain a 'corpus fund' exclusively for the purpose and yearly contribution should be made towards the cost of decommissioning after the life of the plant. Inflation and price rise should be added for yearly contribution.

The details of projects will be protected from the people under the bureaucratic word 'confidential'. BOT agreement will have a clauses linking energy charge with inflation, exchange rate, cost of Uranium, cost of production, cost escalations etc. The SPIRALING PROCESS of many interdependent variables is beyond control once the BOT/PPA are operationalized.

The financing of the projects will be from foreign sources. Indian banks will be kept out of the picture. This is just to restrict the people from the know of what goes on in the project in the financial front. The lobbying for opening more foreign banks is intriguing. RBI is the lone government agency who will come in the picture. Note that one lakh crores of rupees was remitted by connaivance of higher-ups, as reported in the media, to foreign countries for a project costing just ten thousand crores in a period of seven years!! ENRON. The sudden inflow of huge capital into the market will create inflation. The inflation will change exchange rate to India's disadvantage. The increasing cost of living will call for wage revisions. This follow a path with a complex function (spiral) with many variables which are interconnected. The special interests blame it on 'market forces' a kind of escapism. But the financial structure will reach a breaking point within a short time.

FDI flows like a flooded river
Foreign corporates own retail businesses
Market flooded with foreign goods
People attracted towards foreign goods
No demand for local produces
Death of Indian industries
Media creates euphoria about foreign goods
Media controlled by foreign corporates
People's attention deviated
Sensual pleasures the lone aim
Look for loans
Governments encourage philosophy of live on loans
A dreaded path
Make money is the lone aim
Moral value disappears
People crying for more foreign goods
All on loans
Governments creates illusory turmoil
To escape from the responsibility.
Start flowing back the FDI
To the original point
Many times the original value
A foul play in economics
Doctorate holders may be watch dogs
But no avail
Rules are already in place
Put by men in the past
Complete chaos........
Masses work for the welfare of men abroad
The Land of Rishies become land of slaves
Oh Mother give birth to gems like Naoroji, Goghale, Vivekananda, Arobindo
Cheer up the mass with fiery speeches and writings
Oh, Mother India,
Save us

Stupidity.
by Parag K on Oct 06, 2010 05:38 PM

This absolutely rubbish. There is no connection whatsoever with atomic radiation.

Someone is definitely foolish if he/she thinks that people commit suicide because of radiation.

Don't jump to conclusions.

Every coin has two sides. Do nt look at only one. When the reason of death is unknown,It is not advisable to comment in negatively. If you look at today's cut throat competition and rat race suicideal sybdrome is drastically rising. There are enormous reason behind it like sp liting of family,Incresing tension at woek, difference of opnion bwtween couples, alcoholisim, narcotics--- ---- etc. One should conclude on facts and figure. Some time social activist forget these aspect and makes their opinion. Beware from such activist.

Tell me another organization where you have such a huge percentage of deaths in such an age group ? Everyone is facing the issues you are talking about but I doubt if there is another organization with such a high rate of deaths.

good report rediff!!!I AM SURE THIS IS NOT THE HANDY WORK OF ANY ISLAMIC GROUP!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks like these are murders and labelled as suicides.. may be they were rats or may be they knew something very confidential about their bosses who punished this way, or it might be accidental deaths...

the families of the deceased should be contacted and the hospitals that performed the postmortem should come open
