India has a 5000 years old hidden dark side viz goo .gl/K8Pg
There are 17,000 cults aka castes in India.
And they're destroying India because they literally hate each other. goo .gl/iYXKw
To strengthen India, it is better to give autonomy to FC/BC/SC/ST/Minority regions with a single passport and currency across these regions viz goo .gl/A8F6

North eastern states are part of India
by alagu achari (View MyPage) on Nov 03, 2010 06:35 AM

Manipur, mizoram, nagaland are ignored by mainstream India. A small petty cases from mumbai are shown in every national channels. When are we Indians going to realise the truth that these people are neglected. Instead of AFSPA, they need development and normal life. Indian political system need a sea change in their policy. We have to blame ourself if chinese take over those places.

Army has to take strong meassures
by martin descent (View MyPage) on Nov 02, 2010 10:34 PM  | Hide replies

Army doesn't know who is insurgent and who is common man...coz insurgents dont' have it written on their faces that they are trouble makers...If there is some suspicion, Army is bound to react and may be kill them if the situation goes out of control...The very fact that this lady has been arrested and fed many a times forcefully, indicates that Army has some sense else it doesn't take long to kill another person anyways....if they can kill 100 innocents, why not one more as Irom Sharmila..Rediff please publish this comment. I want like minded people to read this and be supportive of our army personnel

if what you say is true than all the militants should be dead by now, if the special powers can kill innocent men and women, why not it kill millitants and keep manipur a peaceful place to live...

after these many years why there is killing again and again.

That means Indian army is blind, they are machines, dont know who are & who are not ? All this problems are creation of Congress rule since independance & now congress is busy only with Kashmir, because of Minority appeasement.

//Army doesn't know who is insurgent and who is common man//

that is a poor commentary on the army if that is true. Why do we have to "blindly" support army? Their primary responsibility is to ensure and maintain peace. If not deploying them in certain parts of the country achieves that then civil society and polity of the country should reconsider AFSPA in the region.

Even a dog barks in Mumbai you will find it in our news channel but it is true that these eastern states are rarely given any importance in main stream India;
They are just Indians by name or Passport but continuous ignoring these people will lead to rise of freedom struggle; and there are hundreds enemy country who are always ready to sponsor that.

So all efforts should be made to develop those states urgently even sacrificing some development in mainstream India

Centre has looted all coals, petrochemical resources of the north east...
Now it is targetting Uranium..
Next is Hydel power..produce in north east and export to Delhi-Haryana-UP-Bihar..

And if some one protests you brand him a terrorist !

North East is the gateway to South East Asia..you can go by road from Guwahati to Bangkok or Singapore or Yangon..but our looters will not develop this region...

If the hinterlands go to the hands of neighbouring nations,it will bring worst consequences for the country...

by haokip (View MyPage) on Nov 02, 2010 07:20 PM  | Hide replies

India is the land where Gandhi was born, whose non-violence movement and satyagraha we read in Indian history. India is proud to be the largest democracy. India is proud of Gandhi. India dreams of becoming a superpower, becoming a permanent member of UNSC. It is very shameful on the part of India doing this injustice to not only Irom Sharmila Chanu but the entire people of Manipur. India will go to hell for this inhumane act. How can India, a democratic nation, remain as a silent spectator when a lady is fasting for the last 10 years? It is very very shameful. India and her citizens should exercise restraint while criticizing other nations for alleged human rights violation.
