Where is Mrs. Meneka Gandhi now...?? Why dont she come forward and comment now.. Fr killing chikara she wanted the judiciary to set an example by asking a more rigorous punishment ... but for killing so many innocent people our stinking rusted law gives mere two years of imprisonment ??? Ansals and others should be beaten to death by general public... but before this they should be given a sentence of min 10 years of imprisonment. I can understand the pain and the kind of loss all the victims and their families have suffered..
Decades to decide if somebody is guilty in some of the most obvious cases. That too when media was kept the issue in limelight, relatives kept running from one door to another. If I had to choose who is destroying Indian democracy and society , it won't be politicians or media it is judiciary, for it si supposed to constituted of the most learnt men. Shame.

You have a valid point. The judiciary in India has become one of the most inefficient of organisations that are instituted to serve the public.
With its current norms, the Indian judicial system and its practitioners are completely indifferent to the much publicised adage "justice delayed is justice denied".
Our courts, irrespective of the whether it is the Supreme court, the high courts or any of the lower courts, still close for Summer Holidays, they close for the winter, and god knows for how many other reasons. This is archaic to say the least. The courts provide an essential service, of serving justice. They have a duty to provide this without undue delays.
India has one of the highes instances of pending legal cases. Yet our courts still close for the summer holidays, winter etc. Are these ppl School children? While we always hear the need for more courts and judges, its more important to ensure that the courts are open for more days in a year, that the judges should spend a prescibed minimum hours hearing cases in a week, and should be accountable for delays in dealing with cases.
The judgement has come because those who were killed were from the influential families. They could hire the best lawyers available fight the case 'relentlessly' so that the 'Justice' could be meted out.
Imagine a situation if the similar fire had engulfed another theatre in some remote location of India where only the people from not-so-fortunate families had died. Could we have ever imagined the same sentence?
In India, the value of an individual is judged by the influence he/she wields. Life of an ordinary citizen has no value here.
It took 10 years for the court to decide the case against Ansal's favour, must say a real victory. Even now there is no guarantee whether they'll be actually convicted or not because they might tamper with evidence again like they have been doing all these years and again "A Mockery of our Judicial System" will emerge in from of our eyes again like other numerous cases--Jessica Lal, Nanda, etc. etc. and of course the other countless cases that are not reported in the media.

Indian judiciary is a farce. Ansals will now run to High court, then to supreme court. They will be dead by the time supreme court gives any verdict. Don't celebrate. burn these criminals.
Judiciary has prevailed upon all concerned to bring to the light the guilty. I happen to visit the Park developed by the Association and am alarmed to see the face of theatre.

stop day dreaming. This is a verdict by lower court. Ansals can still run to High court and then to supreme court. They will die before these courts give any verdict.
People are more worried about animals than human beings. There were so many rallys to punish Salman khan for hunting. there were rallys to waive death sentence to terrorist like afsal guru from death sentence. People are against giving death sentence to even devil minded people who are involved in raping a child of 5 years!
Life of Humans depend on the position he hold in society, Rich , politicians, actors, religious leaders are very very valuable. Even the life of anti nationals in the jail is very important. the one which is cheapest is THE LIFE OF COMMON MAN.
Whoever rule the centre, we have to suffer. We will be denied progress, We will be forced to work without proper safety and there wont be any importance to our lives.

You have mentioned the name of Afsal Guru. The three terrorists recently arrested had his in their list of 42 terrorists to be freed in exchange of our VVIP they were going to take as hostage. Our Govt. will never wake up and carry out the punishment metted out to Afsal Guru by the Hon'ble SC. They are perhaps awaiting that some such terrorists will come one day and carry out an operation 'a la Kandhar' to free Afsal and many more like him behind bar at present.
