Blunder on the first line itself - where is the proof reading?
by Sandeep Gupte on Jun 21, 2005 06:27 PM

Nice article overall, but onn the first line itself the author has comitted a blunder. Instead of referring to Basu Chatterjee the author writes Basu Bhattacharya. I do not recollect any movie in which Amol Palekar & Basu Bhattacharya have worked together, although there are many movies made by Basu Chatterjee in which Amol Palekar has starred like : Chitchor, Rajanigandha, Baaton Baaton Mein, Chhotisi Baat. It is expected that before publishing any article the author should do some research or at least the editor should.

Golden words.

I wish all the modern producers and directors properly read and understand these lines -
"Today we tell audiences, 'This is what you want and we are giving it to you.' The audiences are therefore rejecting it. If you give them something different, people will like it."

Maybe then bollywood can regain it's glory and shine of the 80's. The audiences are sick and tired of the formulae movies full of skin flicks and item numbers bundled with models with viod expressions and null acting skills. Although most of these semi porns fall flat, the producers and directors never seem to get the point, and continue shelling them out in wholesales. It's true that "different" movies with real stuff, script and story in it are and will continue to be the only hits as you can't really fool the audiences. They are the untimate judge.
