The coconut palm root system[15] consists of an abundance of thin roots that grow outward from the plant near the surface. Only a few of the roots penetrate deep into the soil for stability. This type of root system is known as fibrous or adventitious, and is a characteristic of grass species
Kerala may have a lot of coconuts but few people who can climb trees and pluck them( I read articles dealing with this problem). May be, soon the people of Kerala may buy coconuts grown in Gujarat
Good that Gujarat wants to compete with southern states in Coconut. It's most welcome. Gujarat peoples' health with improve with coconut consumption too.
Gujarat does not have competition for diamonds. Competition from southern states ( Eg Telenghana .. as Hyderabad has the potential ) will help the industry and economy.
Thankfully Bollywood would switch the nariyal pani wala portrayal. Prices of Parachute oil will come down. Prices of nariyal pani will come down from Rs 45 The beaches of Gujarat will start looking more like the Caribbeans. And at last the state wont be dry anymore- Toddy from Coconut is the best bet to counter the ban
