the implementation

Any scheme of any party's government will be introduced by executive. But its success and failure
depends on the implementation by the government staff and officials.

since after independence central government has introduced several welfare measures for the benefit
of the poor and downtrodden. But unfortunately
most of the schemes were blocked by the officials and staffs of the same community and utilised for
their benefits.

Thats why even after 70 yrs of independence the
below poverty line is more than 49%

Demonetisation, GST
by sk ganeshan (View MyPage) on Jul 15, 2017 09:47 PM

Removing block money could have been solved by the connected departments-CID, CBI,Income tax, instead, demonetization made the hoarders of block money from 100,500,1000 rupees to 2000 range.Nothing else.people suffering in operating bank account and standing in Q in ATM,Day to day expenses also only 2000 and in multiples. If one man hoarder is corruptive ,made 1000s of people to exchange the hoarded money. When we can eradicate corruption.About GST, NO one know the basics, but common man to suffer for the abnormal raise in taxes for commodities and increase in 3% service tax for every department like telephone bills, EB bills, bank transactions, and POS purchases etc. It definitely comes to the head of Rs 500/- per month.

In the first place people don't understand technically critical issues, but continue to talk like Mr. Intelligent.

Black Money is nothing but unaccounted money and tax is not paid for it. It includes tax evasion transactions, bribes, etc but there is no identification mark on it. The tax evader has to declare his income and pay tax to make it white, but if it is illegal money (bribes, etc) the individual would prefer not to declare it for fear of other action. So on demonetisation, such stacked money which is illegal has not been brought back into mainstream by disclosure. That means the effective total money in market has actually come down, but nobody can have any account for that.

Similarly, many local taxes, State taxes have been absorbed and subsumed into one single GST which is uniform across the nation. This makes the rate uniform for a product or service allover the country reducing confusion. The totalling of multiple taxes would be far higher than single GST rate but the retailers and manufacturers would not want to share it with common man. The manufacturers save a lot of money to be paid legally and illegally at check-posts across the country but they would not want to reduce the effective cost as this would increase their profits. If the government can check these serious issues, common man stands to benefit.

The Income Tax should be abolished and Petroleum products should be brought under GST to give better effect.

Jaitley himself is not doing anything.. he is not THE MASTER. Ministry of Corporate Affairs brought online filing for Corporates more then 10 yrs ago, catering to miniscule %.. still there are hiccups. Now think of pan indian systmen working flawlessly..specially when a big % of business community & a big part lacks connectivity..There are going to chaos

If bribe is stopped overnite, it will disturb lot of lives...lives of people who take bribe everyday..
If tax is changed, it will change the lives of people...it is obvious....
Do you recommend that no change should happen in India, that too for better society and better tax regime, if it disturbs people's lives..?

what did the CM Modi say at that time? "GST in its present form is not acceptable, a lot of discussions needs to be done" He never opposed the idea of GST, but there were objections to certain clauses. That is why several rounds of discussions were held by Finance Ministers of various States and concurrence arrived at on many points, before the Bill got its present form. It is absolutely untrue to propogate that CM Modi said NO to GST and PM Modi introduced it.

No change would succeed without the sincerity of bribe getting govt servants. Until govt servants are there in India, all system would get failed. Only it is a waste of time. Only public should teach a lesson to these bribe getting servants.

GST is going to be a very good tax reform. But giving credit to present Govt is like giving credit to the virility of father of a child who is conceived through a sperm donation.
