led the path of manipulation, breaking the systems, manage babus, leaders by monbey, power. Basically built the business by hook or crook. Now somebody will say it helped empolyees, investors., The question is - then why Raju from Satyam was put behind the bars? He did the same thing. employees, investors too benefitted from his firm.

Why not??
by Soorya Augustine on Feb 01, 2015 11:57 AM

Why can't we, the Indians produce Shale oil, which is derivated from Coal mines? Is it important for us to sell our raw materials to foreigners all the time?

Tomorrow we'll buy his product at his price..

What an irony...

What our our researchers were doing in the field of 'Alternative Energy Resources'?..

Any answers? Anyone listening?

Many qualities
by piri on Jan 18, 2015 05:07 PM

are attributed to Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani - some of them outrageously hyperbolic.

But perhaps the only quality that truly made him extremely rich was his extreme drive and focus to co-opt the ruling classes to make corrupt laws solely for his benefit !

Testimony to this is the manner in which the Indira Gandhi govt. enacted and passed a law in the mid 70s to allow consignments imported by Ambani to be untaxed and then impose heavy taxation the moment his competitor - Nusli Wadia - applied for licence to make similar imports !

As a wag said long ago, it is not really great intelligence or shrewdness or business acumen that is needed to steal big. It is just the single minded focus to steal big ! Such a mind will never ever be distracted even for a moment, come what may !

by Grizzly on Jan 17, 2015 09:18 AM  | Hide replies

Everyone has dreams but not everyone is willing to go out and get them!

But Dhirubhai was the great man who did what he dreamed of and set the example for others!

Salute the great son of India!

IF U DONT MANIPULATE THE SYSTEM -- SYSTEM WILL MANIPULATE U . only the tax payer is the one who is always punished in india -- NO BODY ASKS POLITICIANS WHERE DOES THE 100 CRORE PROPERTY COME FROM what business do they do -- / No body asks the slum dwellers why r u staying illegally in main city areas -- and with whose permission -- how do u get electricity -- when land doesnot belong to u . NO BODY asks the police men when they openly Demand bribes / and many more / All are the same some less some more / the common man is alos the same -- why blame the rich only
