Concentrate on spiritual aspects
by mallaiah anchoori on Oct 06, 2010 04:50 PM

All that is told very elaborately about the savings ,their returns, cash flows, reinvestments, execution of a will etc is fine when you talk of safety & security in terms of material wealth for the rainy day.But what is most important is a peaceful & purposeful retired life which could be achieved only by diverting towards the spiritual side of the life for which most of the working class would hardly find any time while in employment. There are several finer, refined & subtler things in life-say like literature, music etc which could give lot of relief to the mind & heart.Retired life is the best time to pursue one's such personal interests & hobbies very leisurely & without tension. This, however, presupposes ones getting freed from the family obligations such as bringing up the children begot very late, educating & getting them married etc.Of late,it has become a fancy & fashion-rather a matter of prestige too for some people, to run after post retirement assignments in the name of time killing but ostensibly with an intent of earning only as if the life time struggle in the job is not sufficient.Contentment is a continual feast; there is no end for the money hunt. The very purpose of retirement to get rid of all the shackles & hassles one need to undergo to eke out a living.Like body, mind too needs rest.

This seems to be a valuable article and the author seems to be an expert and well experienced. My father took a policy in which he need to pay premium upto 60 yrs. But for health reasons he got reired at 53. He was struggling to pay the premium during his retired life. The author shares a similar point in this article. Quality one from rediff.

Let us appreciate others. So that the goodness in each and everyone comes out. Also we will also think in the right direction. Otherwise if we think crooked about others, then we will also be a crooked being. This is humble request to you and the others who post undue charges on others. GOD BLESS U

Silly advice
by Ramdas Nayak on Oct 06, 2010 10:11 AM  | Hide replies

Your advice could be followed only by employees working in public sector or in IT Companies where fat salary allows them to do all such savings. But for a poor employee working for low salary in private and unorganised sector there is absolutely no scope to look beyond today. He could think how to survive today in this inflationary conditions where prices of all commodities sky rocketing leave alone thinking about future & retired life.

To earn retirement benefits one must live till that time.

Why are you talking like a communist? Please see the reality. India's gorwth story is great. IF you think on those lines, then none of the article related to personal finance will be suitable for those people who live below the poverty line. Do you think the people below the poverty line will access web an read these kind of articles. These kind of article has got some target audience and for them it will be really useful. Dont always be a critique. Try to give your honest feedback.
