My son is in SSC Mumbai. If we go for DP, which lines can we select for him having good opportunity in commerce. Can he go for C.A. or any other line in Marketing & Business Management etc? What will be difference if he does 11th & 12th from normal commerce collage like N.M & from IB to new courses in collages of Mumbai. Will it be easier or difficult to get admissions?
Well I can tell you the following are IB Schools today as of May 2012 in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh, India). 1. DRS International School (my 2 kids are studying since 7 years). 2. Oakridge International School 3. International School of Hyderabad 4. INDUS International School 5. CHIREC Public School 6. Johnson IB World School 7. Srinidhi International School
By default education is expensive in Hyderabad whether it is State Board or CBSE or CIE or IB!
While this article is old but very relevant. Since 2005 however several new IB Schools have opened up in various parts of the country. In Bangalore itself I am aware of one very famous school: Stonehill International School. Even in Mumbai there is one which is near to our place: Oberoi International School.
This article needs a fresh update to help people find out IB schooling options.

Hi Raj, understand that CBSE, ICSE, CIE, IB are all curriculum frameworks from Kindergarden to Grade 12. While CBSE and ICSE are curriculums from our land of India, CIE is from the land of UK and that too from University of Cambrdige (you've 4 more like this in UK) and IB is land independent though it is originated from Swiss. You can swim in one lane or across the lanes however ideal would be the former. IGCSE is a CIE sub-curriculum for non-UK land students for Grades 9 to 12. CIE also offers IB DP like program for Grade 11 and 12 called GCE Diploma. I'm not sure about the same in IGCSE Diploma for non-UK land students. I hope this helps. Venkat from Hyderabad.

Hi Ritesh, IB DP (Grades 11 and 12) itself is an all around development within chosen streams (sciences or economics etc). Kids will not have time for the so called "IIT JEE, JIPMER, State Engineering Entrance exam" etc. But any college / university that considers NO Entrance Exam but only IB DP Scores, the admission will be straight. For example many familiar and matured foreign universities consider IB DP Score straight whether it is Cambrdige or Hong Kong. In india this is possible as of now for Economics stream but not for Science stream. The Kids will be brighter with stronger life skills and become strong bread earners in their age of 20 post completing a 3 year undergraduation that utilizes IB DP Skills. I hope this helps. Venkat from Hyderabad.
Dear Sir, I am moving with my family from India - Bangalore to the Philippines for a period of 2-3 years. My son has completed his 9th grade and it was extremely disappointing to note that he must repeat his 9th grade in order to sit for the IGCSE board (as this is a two year course) - would IB be a possibility where he can continue in 10th without repeating his 9th - please suggest schools or courses to help.
