by Umesh Dhakate (View MyPage) on Sep 26, 2007 02:51 PM  | Hide replies

Indian hockey players get reward of 1000 RS for every goall scored .why goverment had not given same a money as cricketer get.it is clear stepbrotherly treatment. This is shame for india IN 21 century. .why goverment not think so.same stepbrotherly treatment given to other sport. This can only happens in india.

Let hockey generate the revenues, then they would be rewarded proportionately. Actually BCCI by themselves should award other sports in proportionate manner.

Dhoni and team deserve Kudos but the undue hype of Dhonis capantancy and his praise for nothing is media and sponsers gimick. The crowed has fallen pray to sponser trap.Dhoni do not have first attribute of leadership, he ignored all team mates while taking world cup, though he thanked team mates he is holding the cup since than like a monkey grabing its baby. Not giving to any of his team mates all the way from airport to stadium. One can read the faces of team mates non of them liking this attitude.Teams win has little contribution of dhoni than luck Although yuvraj and rohit, gambhir, uttappa were outstanding with others reasonable performance.

see most of the people like cricket than other games and we should encourage their interest. Ithink other sports mens can understand this and you dont worry about this. Can you marry someone if you dont like him/her?. can you eat something if you dont like?. so dont blame others and try to under stand they interested.

Cheers....

Shamee on Us....?
by Krish nan (View MyPage) on Sep 26, 2007 02:49 PM  | Hide replies

We can very well celebrate the Indian Team's success in T20 competition. But certainly not in this way. This can literally demoralise other sports persons and in real sense Indian Army as well.

India emerged triumphat in the recently finished Asian hockey championship, but Government did nothing for the players. and today Yusuf Pathan, for the 15 runs he scored in the final is given a monetary reward of Rs.11 lakhs!... That says it all.

How about the Army jawans and officials who lost their limbs in Kargil war and are struggling for their livelihood. They are yet to get compensation from the Government.

What kind of a state India is in? The Government failed to prioritise the things correctly and puts cricket ahead of Indian Army.
This can seriously damage the morale of many real heroes of our country.

Country men, give a serious thought and oppose this ostentatious usage of public funds by the Government...

Guys nothing comes free in life. BCCI is just distributing some of the money they are making from the game to the players. Let us start watching hockey, then money will flow to them as well. It is all market economy.

ODI on saturday
by Super User (View MyPage) on Sep 26, 2007 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

Dont they have to play an ODI on saturday 29th against Australia, which is 3 days away. Shouldn't they be practicing now rather than celebrating? Im sure Australia is working hard on exacting revenge on India.

Seems like we would much rather celebrate the T20 success than work on ensuring that we take the success into Test and ODIs too. Bad planning by BCCI yet again

Im all forcelebrating our wins, especially being World Champions but it can perhaps wait for 20th Oct when the series finishes.

But then dont you think it is the stupidity of BCCI to keep matches so close after a major even has been finished and not giving enough time to either of the teams to celebrate. Agreed BCCI must have not thought the Indian team would win this competition. On the other hand they might have thought that the Aussies are used to winning major trophy so for them it would be fine. Lol.

True, If plan so badly at my job, I would be fired immediately, yet people at BCCI seem to hold to their jobs abd have a gala time!

Very bad planning for a series against Australi right after a packed England tour and T20 event. As if that wasnt enough Pakistan tour too begins right after the ODIs against Oz.

I agree with all comments except the last.....we should NOT wait till 20th Oct simply because by then, we might not be left in the mood to. I am sure our team will find it tough to deal with Aussie team in the farmat where they finished world champs just 5 months back. It is good to see our team also getting the tag of "World Champs" and the celebrations are just. But, by today evening the focus should be back as winning needs to become a habbit, what do you say folks???
