Why spare Sachin ?
by Mayala Fakir on Sep 19, 2007 03:20 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin is inconsistent, irresponsible, a liability to the team and a spent-force. Why keep him still? Time to phase out the guy...

Omission- Selection
by Crick fan on Sep 19, 2007 03:16 AM  | Hide replies

Some times omission of certain players become more interesting than selection itself.
Both Munaf and Agarker have failed misreably in their last outing. Agarkar looks to be interested and trying to do good but fails, where as Munaf gives an impression that he is not interested. He just laughs after being hit for sixers. So these too loose their places.
Sehwag has not done much wrong but should agree that he has'nt done any wonders too. Moreover he had extended chances givento him previously. But still feel the team for Aussie should have been announced little later as it may have bad / demotivating effect on Agarkar and Sehwag who are playing in 20-20 world cup currently.

Sehwag
by Crick fan on Sep 19, 2007 03:05 AM

If he is in the team of 15 he will definitly be in playing 11. So this is the reason to keep him away as the selectors do not want to experiment right now. But sure he is not over yet he will have his chances and his days too. But for sure if you wants fast runs willing to take some risk he is the best choice.

Agarkar is very consistent player in getting out for a duck and giving tons of runs for a song. So Agarkar is the most consistent player in India.

Agarkat IN then India OUT.

Don't hate Mumbai Crkcketers
by nitin on Sep 19, 2007 02:37 AM  | Hide replies

Well many of the time some jealous people hate mumbai cricketers for no reason. They forget that Mumbai has won the Ranaji trophy for largest numbers and that's enough to show why Mumbai dominates Indian cricket. If hating Mumabi or Mumbai cricket makes u feel good, then all the best.

Nitin, we cant hide the facts.

If I go by your logic, Mumbai didnt win the domestic 20-20 championship. Instead TamilNadu has won it. Why Rohit sharms is preffered ahead of badrinath?

Why rajesh powar got selected inspite of harbhajan singh selection? what is the need of 2 off spinners even though both are containing bowlers?

why not give the chance to murali karthik whos bowling wonderfully in england

Ramesh Powar is in the team purely because of his surname. It is strikingly similar to . How else would this fatso with alien glasses make it to any sport team? He is a disgrace to all sportsmen with the belly he shamelessly carries around.

Ramesh Powar should be preferred over kartik as Powar performs when required...belly or no belly does not count...even Inzi had a belly...so what?

harsh decision for sehwag
by Avinash Sinha on Sep 19, 2007 02:26 AM  | Hide replies

I think its a bit harsh on Sehwag. If harbhajan and pathan are selected on the basis of twenty twenty, i dont think sehwag was as bad. I quote what vengsarkar says ""Irfan and Harbhajan, both have done well off late in the Twenty20 World Cup and they deserve it". Mind u Sehwag gave a lightening start agains new zealand

Mr.Avinash Sinha, Please follow cricket closely before commenting.

Harbajan proved himself in county matches so he got selected. Not coz of twenty20.
Pathan proved himself in India A Team matches so he got selected. Not coz of Twenty20.

Sehwag did not play or able to prove with the matches he played for Indian oil. So he is not selected.

Please watch all forms of cricket properly before you comment.

Thanks

what captaincy!
by girish s on Sep 19, 2007 01:50 AM  | Hide replies

india is great......reams and reams of paper have been consumed, hours and hours of air time on tv channels have been wasted over this debate about who will captain the indian cricket team. while this attention may all seem good for the game, remember that not even ten percent of this attention was given to selecting the new president of india!!! we never get what we desire.......but we get what we deserve.

pathetic selection
by klc on Sep 19, 2007 01:13 AM

There is no logic in selecting 2 offspinners. Also, both of them are not match winners. Just containing bowlers. They should have given chance to Murali Karthik. Once Kapil Dev has said about murali karthik like this "I have never seen a player with such an attitude towards the game in my 20 years of international cricket".

Australia/pakistan are struggling against panesar/vettori. But our poor murali karthik is playing in england. atleast hes making money.
