INDIA WOULD WIN DEFINITELY
by Satish Bhatt on Mar 22, 2007 01:31 PM  Permalink

THOUGH SRILANKA WOULD BE FLYING HIGH ON SUCCESS WITH A PHSICOLOGICAL EDGE, BUT DESTINY HAS SOMETHING ELSE STORED, IF DRAVID SELECTS HIS TEAM INTELLECTUALLY, RULING OUT AGARKAR HARBHAJAN, CALL ANIL SREESANTH, AS BOTH OF THEM ARE LUCKY MASCOTS FOR INDIA, WHO CAN TURN ANY SIDE, ANYHOW BATTING ORDER SHOULD ALSO CLICK AT SAME TIME, WITH AT LEAST CENTURY FROM OPENING PARTNERSHIP FROM SACHIN SEHWAG, MIDDLE ORDER GANGULY DRAVID YUVI, DOWN ORDER PERFORMANCE FROM DHOONIIIII ROBIIN UTTHAPA, GOOD BOWLING FROM ZAHEER 10-1-45-3 MUNAF 10-2-35-2 SHREESANTH 10-1-30-2 KUMBLE10-0-40-3.

INDIA LUCK WOULD BE TESTED , IF INDIA WINS THE TOSS & ELECTS TO BAT WITH A TARGET OF ANYTHING ABOVE 290 WOULD BE SUUFICIENT FOR LANKANS.

REMEMBER WHENEVER OUT OF THE SUB-CONTINENT , WHEN 2 NATIONS ARE PLAYING INDIA HAVE EVERYTIME OVERSHINED OTHER TEAM BY VIRTUE OF CONFIDENCE.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST INDINE SHOULD DO WELL ON ALL GROUNDS WHETHER BATTING BOWLING FIELDING.

BEST OF LUCK TO INDIA FOR WORLD CUP 07, INDIA PRESENT COMBINATION HAVE EQUATION TO WIN WORLD CUP.

Go Indians Go

At least they now dont need to register a big win on SriLanka. Nevertheless, just beating them is not going to be easy also. But you have to make amens & raise your game once you have committed harakiri by losing to Bangla. Anyways, if we think we are good enough to lift the cup, we have to beat everybody & anybody. Can the boys do it? Yes they CAN. Will they? Lets hope for the best.

Obviously.... If India is dreaming to lift the CUP then they have to be prepared to face the challenge from any team/situation.... This time it's do or die situation...

all we need to do is hope for the best...
by arun soman on Mar 22, 2007 01:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think that srilanka we not risk in losing to india, as india would go to super-8 stage with 2 point lead.
it is better for them to go with bangladesh..
but bangladesh would possibly lose to every one in the next stage, so lanka with 2 point entry is useless..
with india's company their possiblity to top the list is more..

anyway it is a luck factor also to every team..
let's hope the luck favours our men in blue..

Well Said,

The Lankans strategy will be to qualify for Super eight and also to bring India into Super 8, making their chance more to qualify for the Semis. So if Lanka is in a winning position, they wont thrash India badly for sure. Lanka will not like BD to qualify, as all the teams in the Semis will beat them making Lankan chances less for semis. So one thing is sure, India will try to win and SL too but not on a high margin.

Twist in the tale despite these NRR calculations
by Sreedhar Sambukumar on Mar 22, 2007 01:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India having to beat SL is anyway non-negotiable. However, there is one other added twist that is to be considered. And that is the weather ! If the play is affected by D/L, it has the uncanny knack of twisting the targets to such ridiculous levels that it may actually favour Bangladesh depending on when the play is affected. I feel that the author of the article should also consider this.

u dint understand the real calculation behind the net runrate.

If in case the scores are reduced then overs are also reduced praportionaltely. This way the net run rate will not be affected
