Ideal Playing XI
by bharath on Mar 22, 2007 04:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think the following would be ideal as

a. WE have 8 batsman to cover for failure of 2 or 3 batsmen

b. WE have 4 regular bowlers and 4 part timers who can do a good job

c. We have good fielders for the ring - Uthappa,Yuvraj,Pathan,Tendulkar,Dravid, sehwag is ok in the slips.

d. Good blend of experience and fresh blood...

1.Ganguly
2.Sehwag
3.Uthappa
4.Dravid
5.Tendulkar
6.Yuvraj Singh
7.Dhoni
8.Pathan
9.Kumble
10.Zaheer
11.Munaf

1.Ganguly 2. Sehwag 3. Dravid 4. Tendulkar 5. Yuvraj singh 6. Dhoni 7. Pathan 8. Zaheer 9. Kumble 10. Sreesanth 11. Munaf

The reason for chosing this combination is Srilanka is weak against sustained pace bowling and Agarkar & Uthappa seems like not in good form and five regular bowlers are needed in a crucial match, with seven batsman including Pathan will prove to be crucial. Opening bowling should be done by Munaf and Sreesanth, 1st change should be Zaheer, 2nd change should be Pathan and 3rd change should be Kumble with Sehwag as a substitute for any failure on the part of frontline bowlers. This will be ideal combination.

Except in 1 or 2 matches, almost in all, the first wicket has gone within 10 runs. We can do everything to see of the first spell of 12 overs. Then, we can plunder.

definately true. west bengal should be given to bangladesh and ganguly 'll become the caption of bangladesh which they main thing kolkata people want.i have noted that most kolkata people wants that dravid should quit captaincy and ganguly to be captain again. in this way , ganguly 'll become captain because rest of india wants still dravid as a captain.

The ultimate truth is, If India wins with the effort of any Player he will be the Real Hero or Dada. If India Lose the Match what is use of praising any player. It is just like post mortem report.

He is the player who can really handle pressure. Just remember the presssure he was in when he debut. Just remember who got us into winning streak against pakistan(remember thye series against canada). He is our best bet against tension and pressure. Yes he is scoring runs in a rate not desirable , true , but atleast he is the one who scored 66 ( may be out of 129 balls) when all others failed.

If he would have scored atleast 25 odd runs more in these 129 balls the situation would have been a bit different.

India to super Eight
by on Mar 22, 2007 04:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As much as i am disappointed with India's performance against Bangladesh, i believe we will go into super eight and into Semi finals and have a good chance to win the world cup even. Just remember what happened in last world cup when after dismal lost against Australia , stones were thrown to players' houses and remember where we went from there. Cricket is how the game is played on that day, forget about stats . Stats would have placed us 1000 to 1 in 1983.We have potential. Players are all fired up after loosing to Bangladesh, and we are still peaking. We are going to win this game against Srilanka and we will march into Finals.

Here is analysis regarding Chances to win the World Cup 2007 for India :

Reason1:

Year 1981
1. Prince Charles got married
2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes
4. Pope Died
5. 2 years later India won the world Cup!!!

Year 2005
1. Prince Charles got married
2. Liverpool crowned Champions of Europe
3. Australia lost the Ashes
4. Pope Died
5. 2 years later India will win the world Cup

Reason2:

1982 Football World Cup won by Italy
1983 Cricket World Cup won by India

2006 Football World Cup won by Italy
2007 Cricket World Cup: INDIA

Reason 3:

1983: India has lost the only first match in 1983 world cup

2007: India has lost the only first match in 2007 and will not again

Still doubtful??? Watch out on Final Day

Knock out Punch:

1983 ? India stopped WI from winning World Cup for 3 rd consecutive time
and since then WI has been in doldrums!
2007 ? India stops Australia from a 3 rd time WC ? and then ???

lets hope for the best

· only subjected to its win against srilanka tomorrow.

Vandhe Matram ( come on India!!!)

India vs SL
by AAA on Mar 22, 2007 04:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Batting first,India will have to score atleast 280 to register a win against SL or bundle SL around 225 to win chasing the game.

Top order need to perform well from now onwards. Uttapa, dravid, & shewag need to score some decent runs, Ganguly need to score at a brisk pace. Sachin & yuvraj are in good touch, so tehy can perform anywhere any time(don't consider some odd inings).

In bowling department, Patel should open the attack with zaheer, followed by irfan and kumble.
