India has to go thru to the super 8's...Not just because it%u2019s team India that we are talking about who will defeat Sri Lanka but also because there are Rs 400 million riding on them. If India doesn%u2019t qualify for the super 8's the television, advertisers, and people who have money riding on them are set to loose big time. Not least the bookies. So India will go thru...I have no doubts about that.
In the recent past, I have observed that many players are complaining of too much matches, injury problems, not spending sufficient time with family etc. for there poor performance in matches.
The solution for all these worry, I strongly feel that there should be seperate team for test matches and oneday matches with condition that every player will opt only for one version of the game only. In no circumstances a player can play both version of games.
By doing so, we can solve our players problem and more player can get chance to play. Atleast BCCI should think of this.

It depends on the pitch condition, what time the match starts, weather during the start of the game etc. Watching the earlier trend in our group India should opt to field, becos SL have a lethal bowling attack which can easily consume our batsmen in no time.

PITCH ki baat mat kar dost... Pitch ka soch kar hi to India haarti hai hamesha... We never won in a world cup against SL when we batted 2nd. So, batting first would only help India... ELSE... you know.. doors are open for us to quit!

I think we should bat first as there would be huge pressure and batting second means to perform under pressure and mind u india has a very poor record in these circumstances.

Recently we won 17 matches chasing. also last series sgainst SL we won last 2 games chasing. secondly, if we bat second the ball swings less in afternoon, it will be more advantageous for us in 2 ways. 1) our bowlers can utilise morning conditions quite well and we can see quick wickets falling for SL(due to more swinging of ball). This is not possible if we bowl 2nd & don't forget the fact that we don't have alethal bowling lineup. 2) after we reduce Sl for 225 max, our batsmen will be relaxed and the SL bowling attack will be not as lethal as it would have been if they would have bowled in morning
If you consider India's record against Srilanka outside SL, it reveals some intresting facts.India always had an upper hand and the home series which India has won will play in the minds of SL batsman.India should, Must and will win tomorrow.Mera Bharat Mahaan. Jai Hind

We have been beaten black & blue by Lankans at Sharjah - remember 54 all out?? Robin Singh's last ODI though he was the top scorer for India with 11 runs....
I think that if India can contain Jayasurya and Sangakkara, it can easily defeat SL. India always enjoyed upper hand against SL when playing outside SL. But, all this depends upon Sewag. If he fires, the rest will automatically fire and India will go through.....

The situation is like a dumbbass for india. It entangaled itself in such a desparate situation. What i feel is Srilanka will loooose only if india don't play to its standard. As Indian team is full of money makers i suspect if india can beat srilanka. But don't be emotional if india looses because chances of happening this is very high. I pray that i will be wrong but.............

take all the above steps.it's pathetic .people of all age groups make so much sacrifice - kids miss school, grown ups take leave from office(or reach dreary eyed) and these guys just make money and don't deliver at all.

Ankita, Cricketer don't ask kids to mis school nor does they ask grown ups to take leave. Parent should be responsible if kids miss their school to see a match!! Similarly only a irreresponsible husband or a careless father will take a leave from office to see cricket match. Secondly & most importantly all the WC matches are telecast around 1700 hours. At this time I think there is no need to miss school or office

How come this yearly hiccups dont happen so often to Aussies and South Africans, who by the way dont make more money than the Sachins and Souravs in our team?

Negative thinking!!! We have good talent available in our team. Coach can't do anything if player is not playing well. He can motivate, make tactics, plans, etc... But, he can't force in-field players to assemble and perform.
We have enough talent who can win this WC... Please dont loose your hope..

First and foremost---Remove Sehwag from the team. Son't forget that he scored century after two years and that too against weakest minnows - Bermuda. Sehwag is Panauti for "India". Once he gets out, rest all follow him. Indian players like Sachin and Sourav should first play for their country and not for themselves. This is the last world cup for Sachin, Rahul, Anil and Sourav. They should understand this and deliver their best performance before saying "Alvida" to cricket. I amsure, if Sehwag is playing tomorrow, India will lose. VIRENDER SEHWAG, if by any chance u r reading my post, please do not play in this world cup.
