TOMORROW's WEATHER
by Chhagan Bhujbad on Mar 22, 2007 06:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Fri
Mar 23

      PM Showers
      32°/23°       CHANCE OF RAIN: 30%
      32°C
Result: If the game goes into a draw due to bad weather or Rain, India's out of world cup. The only hope we can expect is that 20 overs of the second innings to be bowled and so Duckworth Louis comes into consideration. Or elsE INDIA IS OUT OF WORLD CUP.... good job India for losing against a team like Bangladesh. Thanks a lot.

the weather forecast is true. I got it from Weather.com. These guys are good! but yup!!! that's the story If India goes into a draw against Sri Lanka. THe Reserve Day weather is almost same. SO it's not going to make any difference for India.

There is a reserve day scheduled the next day, and games will continue where they stopped on day 1. So chances of a double washout are VERY low. There will be a result.

All the league matches have a reserve day. I saw and heard Dean Jones and that Sharma fella talking about it during Extraaa Innings back when it rained during the India-Bangladesh game. So its not restricted to the Semis.

Dont know why Agarkar is taken in all games
by Pdp h on Mar 22, 2007 06:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I want the same team they played against bermuda. But please replace Agarkar with some one else. Better would be Sreesanth. Dont know why Agarkar is choosen in the WC squad. He is one useless fellow but got a strong back of Sachin. If they play with either Sreesanth or Pathan India has a fair chance of winning.

i agree with POO
this sreesanth still a kid
in front of aussies, south african, AND the lankans, dont forget what happen in 2003 what the aussies did with nehra,
please dont take the risk of experiment of taking sreesanth this time after the world cup you can experiment with sreesanth in the field or a laboratory ,he jumps like a frog
please send him back to india

You are very right. Leave Agarkar if you want to win against Sri Lanka and take Irfan or Srishant. There is no control in Agarkar's bowling.

I too agree with you. his bowling has no skills and his dull and lin body really brings the arma down of Indian Team. Throw him out and take irfan instead.

SEEING LAST 2 MATCHES HOW AGARKAR WAS BOWLING TO MINNOWS, AND HOW EASILY BOWL WAS COMING ONTO THE BAT, MY MAMMA TOLD THAT ALAS IF SHE COULD ALSO HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO BAT AGAINST AGARKAR AND HIT FEW BOUNDARIES...........

May be your Mamma plays better than Jayasuriya and Smith. Ask them whether they want to face Agarkar first up or not. You will get the answer 'No'.

The erratic Sreesanth who sprays the ball everywhere and give away 20 runs in an opening over....I fear what Jayasuriya would do!

India needs an agressive bowler in their line-up, although Sreesanth may give away runs, hes usually bowled well in nuetral tracks and he usually bounces back and takes wickets. What we need is not someone who can just take wickets of tail enders but some one who can unsettle the top batsman and take their wickets
BTW it seems hes been bowling excellently in the nets, why not give me a chance?

What's the use if Sreesanth bounces back after conceeding 30-40 runs in the opening spell. Agarkar is good.

Wrong calculation
by Pankaj Garg on Mar 22, 2007 06:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

this calculation is wrong for the case if Bermuda bats first in BD/bermuda game. If Bermuda bats first and get out on 50 and then if BD achieve the target within 6th over then they can overtake the indian NRR.

This is the only remote possibility which can prevent india from moving ahead.

this is a nice composition, though uthappa's place should go to Dinesh Karthik, who can give depth to the Indian Batting.then the choice will be between Sreesanth and Pathan replacing Agarkar. this is my final 11.

WC Chances for India.
by ashok kalra on Mar 22, 2007 06:16 PM  Permalink

Dear Friends,

Why to make fuss for the chances. Have a sportsman spirit. Who plays better will get a chance whether its SL, BD or Ind. So forget about the speculations / calculations, just wait and watch for the best performance by anybody.

India Can make to thenext stage

India needs a balance approach. They should drop Uttapha and add Pathan to the team. It will give them more bowling and batting options

true enough, Pathan can bowl a few overs (5 maybe) and the other quota of 5 can be shared among the part-timers. And he can bat.
