ITS SAD! I PRAY FOR THE DEPARTED
by AK Kumar on Mar 19, 2007 12:06 AM

Its no longer cricket. Its a tragedy. He was a great coach and how and why he died may soon be unravelled. But the truth is that Pakistan's failure got him. He died due to that. Its sad, its tragic.

Let the cricket fraternity get together to pray for the departed soul. May God grant him peace.

Woolmer RIP
by avijit ganguly on Mar 19, 2007 12:05 AM  | Hide replies

bob woolmer would always be remembered as a the person who revolutionised the importance of coaches iin cricket!! he was the first "laptop coach"!! with hansie cronje, woolmer formed an amazing coach-aptain partnership!!!!
this is a sad day for the game of cricket!!!
one of its biggest thinkers is gone!!!!
the defeat against ireland was a bit too much for this proud coach!!!
at least he was not as thick skinned as our great indian players!!!!

Y only blame indian players?! Pakistan players should feel ashamed. Though, i agree with lack of performance of indians, Bangladesh is a much stronger side compared to Ireland and have beaten australia, pakistan and india before beating india now.

If you want to count thick skinned people, you will run out of numbers. They are there in all the team.

by Debankar Dutta on Mar 19, 2007 12:04 AM  | Hide replies

absolutely shocking news!!! i suspect there was some foul play. paki team management must have given some kind of psychological pressure on him which resulted this unfortunate incident. a great coach indeed.

Rediff's fault
by Mohd Haris on Mar 19, 2007 12:03 AM  | Hide replies

This is all Rediff's fault. It has posted the comments for the headline "Bob Woolmer unconscious" on a page that reads "Bob Woolmer dead". While people are commenting harshly thinking he is only unconscious, Rediff has now replaced just the title stating "he is dead", which makes the comments look real ugly.

no rediff fault, first news was of unconsciousness and then later news of die came out even at other places, which in natural course of events

You missed the point! Rediff should've replaced the entire article once the news of death was confirmed. Instead, it only replaced the title and hence the comments that were mentioned under the "unconscious" impression (which were quite harsh), were now supposedly for the "dead", which looks real ugly.
