Making a fool out of himself!
by SA Nair on Oct 03, 2006 07:15 PM  Permalink

Mr.Mahesh Bhoopathi's announcement is totally inexplicable and, coming from one of the top players of the county, unpardonable! I was trying to analyse as to which of the following factors could have prompted him to adopt this attitude:

1. His enemity towards Leander Paes
2. His ego clash with the Indian Tennis Association
3. His fear of losing, if paired with Shikha Uberoi
4. His fondness for Ms.Sania Mirza
5. His greed for money (an excuse to pull out of the Asian Games to enable better preparation for Australian Open)

Whatever maybe the reason, he has proved, beyond doubt, that he is a selfish person who would go to any extent to satisfy his ego even if that means overlooking the National Interests! It must be a matter of shame to the Krishnans and Amritrajs that Mr.Mahesh Bhoopathy hails from their Home State, Tamil Nadu! To think that the indomitable national spirit which those illustrious predecessors displayed has not rubbed off onto Mr.Mahesh Bhoopathi is utterly disgusting, to say the least!

bhupati not to play for india
by sudhir on Oct 03, 2006 06:19 PM  Permalink

I have always been leander paes fan because for him playing for country is more important than anythying else.It is very unfortunate that mahesh has decided not to play for india as he considers australian open to be more important than asian games and its a pity that mahesh had to be jealous of him being not paired with sania inspite of the fact that he knows that leander and sania have played together before and they as a pair stand a better chance at asian games.

We cant afford to lose Mahesh Bhupathi
by Surekha Tenneti Venugopal on Oct 03, 2006 03:07 PM  Permalink

What's wrong with the Asian Games Federation ?
What is their problem ? Why do they have to slight themost consistent international tennis player of India, Mahesh Bhupathi ?
As it is with its poor record of Medal-probables, India minus Mahesh is going to suffer badly at the Games.
But of course, Mahesh too, has to be blamed for this present terrible lapse on the part of the Federation-he has always been too mild, unlike the other aggressive players- Sania, for all her hype, has been playing poorly- he has always allowed people, critics, associations to walk all over him. He has been a gentleman player of class in a country where only loud country-behaviour seems to work.

Mr.Bhupathi, you are a self centered player. You can take a walk. India can still win despite of you. If you dont intend to play for india then get out off my country. Dont dirty it by staying here

Bhupati not playing for India

It's sad !! But hope the decision taken by him will not have any regrets later.
A dog can be a lion in it's own territory, but a lion could be treated as a dog if it enters another territory. This is the worst thing that could happen to anybody.

Mahesh Bhupati - You are cheating your fans
by sreedhara.K.S on Oct 03, 2006 12:42 PM  Permalink

Mahesh, I was great fan of your game. Now I am ashamed after learing about your decision not to play for the country. People who scrifice for the country are remembered in the generations to follow. I and scores of our contrymen expected you to be a role model. It's pity that you coundn't sacrifice your ego for the sake of the country. Yes, there may injustice but, it would be great if you swallow all those (true to your name - Mahesh i.e. Shiva who swallowed poison to save the lives) and win medles for the country. I hope to see a change in your decision and bring pride to our country by winning medals in Asian games and Olymics.

Bhupati
by Jimmy Noronha on Oct 03, 2006 12:06 PM  Permalink

Sir,

If Bhupati does not want to play for India, so be it. One does not have to have all stipulations and conditions when it comes to serve ones country. Moreover, by not playing Bhupati is helping others to serve their country while augmenting their future prospects.

Jimmy
