Congress did not have anything to say against Godhra except for " Maut ka Saudagar" which also backfire...lol...coz all Gujratis know that Godhra was long long ago....and it was a mistake to counter a mistake......Its a shame setting the train on fire and its a shame that a backlash happened!!! You Gujratis are very lucky that Congress did not come into power.... Trust me , Once upon a time Hyderabad , Andhra Pradesh, was the epicenter of development during Chandrababu's rule..... Who had heard of Modi before 57 Hindus were burnt alive in Godhra(Hindustan)? The evil terrorist who did that act gave birth that day to this phenomenon called Modi. If Palestine struggle is legitimate, so are the actions of Modi. If palestininans can blow up innocent people at marketplaces, Modi can also do anything.
Remember, Modi was not the aggressor, he did not start the fight, he is acting according to Quran, in which you can defend yourself and your people. Modi is following the Quran, hence he is a Muslim. If Palestine struggle is right, then Modi's actions are also right.

bullcrap - then SM Krishna and Naidu would have never lost as they delivered more development in much larger states . Even CPI ( M) keeps winning in Bengal only because it appeases minorities there. Its about revenge - the very basic human emotion. As long as he keeps delivering that, he will keep getting votes. He goes soft to get national stature - he will become a bumpkin like LK Advani.

I always suspected him to be the biggest recruiting agent for terrorists - my friends in Akshardham and Bombay train blasts would still have been alive if not for him.
Communists have ruled Bengal for 40 years and no one can imagine anyone from there ( communists ) to be PM in next 40 years. The Congress has been rather silly in upping the ante in a communally polarized society which suits Modi well..the more you accuse him of communalism, the more votes he will get BECAUSE that is the badge of honour for him. Prove him to be "maut ka saudagar" and more will vote for him. Modi cannot be defeated in Gujarat because people in Gujarat will never accept a liberal, secular leader. PERIOD. Modi may try now to become a more accceptable
As for rest of the country - I think - election arithmetic is a little different.
