Inlet of the Makhurd creek near Manhkhurd colony has started overflowing and many slums will go under.... Tremendous water logging near Govandi, Shivaji Nagar and Lotus Nagar......
Its a pathetic situation, and after this first downpour we would still have our goverment say things are well under control and our teams have excelled in their jobs... Bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the mess and crap on the roads is a classic example how good we plan our city during the rains...

BMC is only after money making, There is no improvment such, Today i saw the marol is flooded, The Drain is been block , Many vehicles are been stop working & Hunder of people are been walking . From many years i been waching the same situation of Marul.

Mayor is just like President who has no work but to tour the foreign countries along with family & study the other corporations in the word. It\'s pity that BMC which is one of the richest corporations in the world is sitting on hip of shit & plastic with no infrastructure. Mumbai will never become city of 21st century if BMC is run by present setup...

The low lying areas of Chembur are worst affected in these rains. Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants form the majority population in the Chembur- Govandi - Trombay belt right now and because of the votebank politics of the government, they do nothing about these mushrooming slums so that the educated taxpayer is forced to pay taxes and haplessly watch the drainage in monsoons wash away his / her hard earned money.

Absolutely true...the marshy inlets of Mankhurd coupled with areas like Cheeta camp make these places very dangerous in the monsoon....only the other day, someone sank in the bog behind Cheeta camp.......illegal Bangladeshi immigrants have spoiled the character of the Mankhurd and Trombay belts......though Chembur is still good i think...

Serious Issues which made Mumbai bad are: 1. Slum 2. Ill sanitation system 3. Pathetic poor fellows who goes to Railway track for nature's cal, I don't know what a outsider will think while traveling in a train to Mumbai. 4. The heavy traffic. Man that really sucks. 5. Over population
What made Mumbai great is its people and their mentality.

Agree with all of the above. Would also like to add :- 1) Centre step motherly treatment to Mumbai 2) The government's eagerness to settle illegal migrants ( Bangladeshis ) at the cost of its own citizens.

where did you get that stat from ? mumbai accounts for around 30% of the tax revenues collected because all the company HQs are situated there. so what if the HQs are located there - how does that make mumbai more eligible for development than the rest of the country ?

Mumbai is the financial capital of the India and its cash cow. That doesnt give the government the right to play with the rights of Mumbaikars. We dont pay tax to see our buildings and roads sink under water, I am sure you will agree.
