Thats right, not only were trains running late by more than an hour, some trains were cancelled too. I normally take the 8.17 local from Vashi which was cancelled, got a train at 8.55 and reached VT at 10.45

The migrants from Bangladesh are the biggest problem....Already there are demands that Lower Assam should be merged with Bangladesh. They are involved in the bomb blasts in Jaipur and occupy the slums in vast numbers in Mumbai. Deonar, Govandi, Mankhurd, Sewri, Reay Road these are their strongholds. The time will come when Mumbaikars will get a Bangladeshi as a chief minister and then it will be too late..

Update
by Sane Guru on Jul 01, 2008 11:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I came from Bhayander to Bombay Central. No problems with trains in the Western Railway. But from Bombay Central to Churchgate, there is water logging on the rails. But rains have stopped.

High Tide till 4:39 pm. So dont expect water to recede soon, but will happen gradually. Central Rly and Harbour Rail guys, dont even venture out.

Andheri people boarding fast trains go drown yourselves. As it is people from Virar are harrowed, till the train reaches Andheri, and these parasites and vermins still board the fast train. Inspite of slow trains going empty, inspite of these people able to take the roads, inspite of everything, these dumbos still take the fast trains. Go drown yourselves.

I think Virar trains should not halt in Borivali in both directions. This will help borivali people because people from virar local get down in Borivali and catch borivali local at the same time they do not allow people to enter in trains in borivali trains. western railway is responsible for this mess.

Thackarey Response
by Yash Bhatnagar on Jul 01, 2008 11:45 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

North Indians are responsible. Not the corrupt politicians and council people. Not the goonda raaj and petty self serving bureaucrats - it is the Indians from North India.
This happens in Mumbai nearly every year - where is the foresight, planning, infrastructure to deal with this situation. The whole machinery breaks down.

Do u know of any other city which gets the kind of rain that Mumbai does and still manages to survive the torrential rains? I don't know of any..... I have seen what rains do to cities in North America. They do not get such heavy rains normally, but if by chance some year it does happen to rain and there's flooding, then even these "super-powers" are unable to cope up and people choose to stay at home and not venture out. There is water-logging and flooding and traffic jams and similar problems even in US. But we Indians always like to blame our country and everyone else but thier own selves...

Dear Vaishali,
Time to move on and be a developed nation - move on from just "surviving"to actually have an acceptable standard of living. Are you trying to say that our standards in public life in terms of transparency and accountability are on par with the US - I think not my friend.
