Dear Genius Mumbaikar,

Will you become a leader and show the massess what you say can be implemented.

Calcutta culture is different. Mumbai has its own qualities that is why it has status. You can not compare Kolkata with Mumbai. People from all over India come to Mumbai to find their fortune. They do not go to Kolkata.
I think what we need to do is change the parliamentary model of british style. Rajya Sabha seats are sold in India. We need to bring changes in basic political structure. It is difficult but no other way.

this debate is no good, i know mukund and alfred and all above will keep on challenging every note i write. its a fools paradise. dammit no where i intend to compare mumbai with any city. i myself made a fortune here. i also know as a learned citizen that mumbai feeds the entire India.. its us that feed India, run the nation. But when can we be free off our routine sagas.... go to london and see how capitals are made, forget even london, just compare our roads with nairobi city roads. you will understand. my intent to call mumbaikars foolish is becoz no one want to stand up for their rights.. for heavens sake i am teased enough by the many foolish mumbaikars

i am not intending my dear fools to compare mumbai with bengal. i am saying its time you learn to fight for your rights like the bengali tigers, thats it!!!! you fools, u have messed up this place by challenging everything that good for the city. further i dont know if you have vested interests when i am challenging the tax and toll system that thrives here

Rain water.....
by Bansal Amit on Jul 01, 2008 10:05 AM  Permalink

Nobody can blame a particular govt for that...This is because of useless fellows sitting on big chairs...Itna bada sheher hai...drainage ka pata nahi...Cleanliness ka pata nahi...BMC jhak mar rahi hai...Every year it is happening...When there is rain flood and over flowing roads are there..and when there is summer, people suffer for water...Why the officials do not work around for some rain harvesting...Why don't they think of some innovation....Kyonki unhey woh sab karney ke liye paissa nahi milta. It's not only in Mumbai...the whole country is suffering.

REMINDER OF 26/7
by nkpratapan on Jul 01, 2008 10:04 AM  Permalink

God is on our side. When it is about to cut the water supply by BMC, rain God helped us. Let it pour. Let Mumbaikars get an unscheduled holiday, which even otherwise,is the normal practice every year, and nothing new.
Enjoy the downpour.

Rain Rain go away ... Little Jonny Joseph wants to play...

well.. jonny is not the commissioner now, its jayraj phatak....

BMC cannot do anything unless all the slums were moved / rehabiliated ....

slums block the nallahs....

illegal constructions also block most of the rainwater going down the soil and result is flooding...

People... bollywood is an illusion , don't come to mumbai now, its already crowded....

U can come as tourist, but do not stay here.... nahi toh dooooob jaoge....

No petrol in chennai
by sumeet on Jul 01, 2008 09:53 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A small rainfall in mumbai ( which is normal for this time of the year) has started making headlines with all news cahnnels since last night. But it has been for days without fuel in chennai .There are traffic jams across the roads. petrol pumps are shut down & there are queues outside the petrol bunks.Bus service is cut down by 30% even though thry say they have sufficient diesel supply. There are no vegetables in the shop. The city is expected to come to a grinding Halt in the next 24 Hours & not one news channel has put this as their headline. If this had happened in Delhi /Mumbai there would be a non stop telecast of the same. But it seems for the news that should have been the headline of every channel it has been relegated to only a fleeting mention on NDTV. Strange but even carla bruni or Naomi campbell/Paris Hilton get more coverage when they do something stupid. But a serious situation which is developing into a major crisis is being ignored. Will the so called indian news channels please wake up & question the authorities on this issue. It there is an oil glut it has to be for the entire country not only one city. Can Mr. Deora , Mr. Chidambaram or my neighbour Mr. Karunanidhi explain this situation to the general public of chennai.
