No Solution than start something new bloody's
by nirav vaghela on Jul 01, 2008 11:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No water logging solutions and No drainage systems solutions for Rainy season, All transportation systems are blocked for this lovely season. So, hire some private shipping companies so we must have some boats nearby station bus-stop to reach our office on time.

Water logging in Mumbai
by TP on Jul 01, 2008 11:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is not new in Mumbai.

Mumbai is facing the same situation since inception. Why 24 Hours News Channels are creating Havoc every one can understand. They are unnecessarily creating panic among public. Whenever rain start News Reporters fight with other Reporter to cover Milan Subway, Andheri Subway overflow.

Everyone who is living in Mumbai knew very well, that all these Subways are old Nallah, so whenever rain comes water flew from all directions towards these Subways. As soon as rain stops subways get dried.

BMC is still a cheat
by Preeta Raghunath on Jul 01, 2008 11:13 AM  Permalink

Again this year the slightest increace in rainfall brings this vibrant city to a stand-still. Again this year hundreds of crores of Rupees that claims to have been spent on ensuring a chaos-free monsoon has gone down the drain. Again this year track along the central railway line have been submerged at the first instance of downpour. Again this year the BMC and the Maharashtra government has failed to clean-up and widen the Mitthi river. Again this year, Us Mumbaikars will have to spend many hours (more than the usual hours on a non-rainy day)in traffic blocks.
Irrespective of which party is at the helm of affairs at the state level (NCP-Cong) or the BMC level(Shiv Sena), again this year WE Mumbaikars will be left to fend for ourselves this monsoon.

Alternative Way should be between Borivali - Virar
by deepak mishra on Jul 01, 2008 11:04 AM  Permalink

As When rain arrived in monsoon the people are thiking of traffic jam situation by having alternative way one can atleast move slowly slowly towards its desination and we know that its only Train that are back bone of Mumbai Main Transport System in Western and Central and Harbor line if trains are delay by 1/2 hour to 1 hour then there is no way to and for mumbai as Trains are only mode of transport in Western and Central so i kindly urge to Government to Have a pair of Heavy Brigde between Bhayander and Naigaon and also extended upto Vaitarna and Palghar Side which will connect the one end of the city to another part

Rains ransacked Mumbai !
by AAMEC CHEMINEER on Jul 01, 2008 11:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am on a official visit to Mumbai. It took 1 hour to travel 5 Kms in Autorickshaw from Andheri ( EAST ) to Andheri ( WEST). Totally the area is water logged and people are standing on middle of roads to save themselves .

What a pathetic situation?. It seems we lack proper planning of drainage systems & transportation systems to the exponential population growth in the cities. Good civic policies are the need of the hour.

Even after so many experiences why the policy makers are not considering public woes?

Dont blame the rains for that. on a normal day also it takes 1 hour from Andheri West to East. The traffic there is pathetic even worse than Bangalore even though i must admit that mumbai people have a better traffic sense.

the policy makers are behind writing the letters in Marathi, they spend one full day to type one page which no one understands, hence the gutters are not cleaned.

Mr. Bhupendra,

you seem to be a perfect example of outsider. You are surely not a maharashtrain / mumbaikar. If you do not understand marathi then better shut up & pray that the big money that you are earning from Mumbai continues or else somebody may throw you also out of mumbai.
as far as typing marathi is considered, it might take a year for you to do since you are the person who does not understand marathi. I have a suggestion, The policy that you cannot read in marathi, ask some of your marathi friends (if you have) to read it out for you.

Coming to the main point that gutters are not cleaned, you have right to ask but you have no right to even try to insult a language specially the one of the state that is your bread earner.
