Most of the youngsters join the armed forces fully knowing the hard life there. No one is forcing them to join the forces. For most of the guys it is a dream that comes true. In this age when many youngsters are on the streets with belt bombs on their waist, and AK47 in their hands, it is a wonder that still many yogsters are willing to safeguard their Motherland from enemies including these antinational elements
Not like everyone who is working in corporate world don't dream about serving the nation by joining armed forces..I applied for Naval college of engineering and had my SSB interview in lonavala.. But only one guy was selected from our batch of 96 students though i felt i was seriously good enough to be in the top 10... Sometimes you need to be the best... now iam a software engineer, but i dearly miss being a naval officer.. Long live these brave men.... JAI HIND....

agreed these people may go through lot of hardships and agreed, your intentions are noble in requesting more succour to these brave youngsters from the govt., but at the end of the day.............These are the very few of the human beings who get a good night sleep. Satisfied with their work for the day and the commitment for the life..
I salute the jawans in what ever rank they are, for the courage and determination they have and joining the army while outside world is very rosy and lucrative. One needs true love for the country to do it. especially the Officers at the Academy like NDA and OTA.
i request our government to please have a check on this ......... still there are people who are willing to die for this country......... so please stop ill payment and ill treatment to them........ i guess they shud be the one paid at the highest stake higher then the governement employee can expect
after all they are the peacemaker as well as protector of this land.....
I am horrified to know the cadets have such strong regional feelings from these posts. In army cadets should believe in one India concept. How is one going to serve and lead his men until he thinks beyond tripura ,manipur, kashmir, punjab etc.But hats of to their dedication over selecting Defence college over engineering or medical colleges.

There are reasons for having strong regional feelings. Especially if cadets come from not so developed states like Northe east. You missed the essence of what he said. By saying that he wanted to serve in Manipur he meant that he would serve as a role model for Manipuri youths and ensure more and more Manipuris join the forces . Further, ( I hope you are aware of this) by serving in Manipur he indicates his willingness and priority to fight insurgency in Manipur. How shameful it would have been if an young officer says 'I want to serve in Delhi or Mumbai' - these are peace time posts where there is not active insurgency invloved. Dude if you dont understand something fully ask before criticizing. I am proud of young ones who are always willing to serve India

I agree with you Attatar! Cadets have NEITHER regional NOR religious feelings! they serve for the country unselfishly! I am proud to be an Indian and let us strive for the UNITY OF BHARAT
seeing the mess the politicians and bureaucrats have made of India, many young men frankly wonder why they should risk their lives to protect and glorify such useless bunch especially when these useless bunch can lord it over the army men ?
