Yeah, he is the kind of person who is jealous of other people's achievements because he himself has never ever achieved anything of any significance whatsoever in his life and is obviously unlikely to ever do so in the future either. If you cannot talk good about people, at least don't talk bad and unwarranted things about them! He just wants free publicity, like Rakhi Sawant. Mr. Kaushik Kashyap, Rahul Dravid has achieved more than you can ever hope to in a 100 lives, so keep your trap shut!

Popularize Yoga
by vikas hegde on Feb 15, 2008 08:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Increase in suicide rates is clearly the side-effects of IT growth at an alraming pace. Its just like some allopathy medicine that cures disease in short -terms but has other side-effects. Luckily, India is the land where Yoga culture. However, India is yet to popularize yoga. India must take advantage of internet media and movies to popularize Yoga. This could help in de-stressing.

Exercise to combat stress
by Fun Lover on Feb 15, 2008 07:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Forget sex or family or friends. The best way to combat stress is to do strenuous exercise. Running or Aerobic exercise is the best. I practice Tae-Kwon-Do purely for fun listening to Vivek Oberoi's "Jaan mein Dum" song. If I stop in the middle I say to myself - "ruke ho kyon?" I am a male and to all my fellow males who are under stress, I have to say - bring out the aggression in you when you do your exercise. I am not asking you to hit someone. I am just asking you to exercise aggressively. Aggression is the characteristic of a male. Don't let your aggressive impulses die because of stress. Good luck fellows!

I dont agree that you need agression to combat stress. Combating stress varies from individual to individual based on what a person likes most and feels relaxed. To me yoga is best. To someone else it could be a dip in the pool, or watching a charlie chaplin movie.

I am not telling anyone to be aggressive towards other people. I am only telling to have an excellent outlet for your aggression in the form of exercise. If you exercise aggressively, your aggression will be spent on the exercise. If you suppress your aggressive impulses, they can backfire and even add to your stress. Any way, to each man his own way. If your way works for you, then who am I to suggest something else?

Another reason for stress
by ACM on Feb 15, 2008 07:25 AM  Permalink

The south indian lifestyle could also be contributing to stress. The south indians put extreme damands on life as sort of portrayed in Taare Zameen par movie. The context however is different but the stress is the same and more prevalent in the south indian middle class. The expectation is not for a person to develop to be who or she actually is but who he/she actaully should be according to the parents/society that the individual's been cursed with. Folks who are by nature this way do not feel the pressure at all.
Other folks display different reactions. Many folks adapt and find their own space. Some become natural rebels. Still others get lucky - and get the opportunity to escape this and develop in other societies. Unfortunately, some sensitive types develop stress related illness like depression and even sucidal tendencies.
There is no straight forward answers or solutions for all this. It's prevalent in all societies in some degree. One has to eventually find a society and life more in tune with one's personality rather than live in that agonizing environment which has caused this situation. Meanwhile, sympathies to everyone caught up in this situation.

Dont waste 2/3 of life coz of 1/3 stress......
by Resh on Feb 15, 2008 07:08 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The is stress is not basically coz u r not fit.....I have known ppl who r so damn brilliant and r still stressed with work...esp in Engg field.... coz u r solving major issues or scientific break throughs and there is no time and quick deadlines....well thats life in this part of the world....but yes one needs to know that we have ONE LIFE and in that life can have MANY JOBS..... so the primary priority in ur life should be ur health .... physically/emotinally and mentally..... there is a breaking point in every persons life....lets not streatch too much and know who too slow down or stop...... The truth is no matter who we r today but 15 to 20 yrs down the lane we r pretty much on the same page...retired...with family and friends...so lets invest in future too ...work is 8hrs(in 24 hr) day which is 1/3 of our life....we shouldnt make 2/3 of our life misserable just coz of 1/3 of what we do....Let WORK be WORK and LIFE BE LIFE....a successful person is not one who has lotsa money or has the highest post or for that matter ppl around him with no cash in his pocket....a successfull person is one who knows how to balance his life well and is successful both in 1/3 ie his/her career (doesnt matter what it is...) and 2/3 his/her personal life.... and I think we should all remember this and relax not just run all the time...take time to breath...take vacation revitalize urself

yes, very much at stake, but who's responsible for it??, nothing wrong in working hard for a better life style, but the most dangerous matter the society is facing right now is, "I need to have better materialistic comforts than him" attitude.....its gone completely crazy over how to make money, no matter what the means is.
