My Best wishes to Beijing Olympics.
by Bharat Nesan on Aug 07, 2008 08:50 PM  Permalink

As a Patriotic Indian, I wish well for the Olympics and I am touched by the sincerity and professionalism and nationalistic pride of the 1.3 billion Chinese with which they are organizing a spectacular olympics.

Not to be misunderstood, I have different views about human rights, Tibet and I want China to give up its claim on Arunachal Pradesh and Akshai Chin in Kashmir.

But on this occasion of Olympics, a great show by Chinese is a big boost to all developing countries with large population, especially India. We have a lot to learn from Chinese and as B.Raman said we should one day organize a great Olympics.

Olympics is an occasion for sportsmanship and friendship. We should set aside our differences and come together for a good cause.

I join His Holiness The Dalai Lama in wishing well for the Beijing Olympics and Indian players who have gone there. Come back with lot of Gold and Silver medals. May God be with you.

B.Raman is getting carried away
by Calspadeaspade on Aug 07, 2008 08:25 PM  Permalink

He is uttering non sense. There is no need to be that emotional. It is just Ok to be diplomatic. The chinese guys are encouraging terrorism in India and Nepal. Now they are at the receiving end. Just sit and enjoy the tamasha. I hope India does not host it. It is too expensive and India does not have the infra structure or discipline to hold such an event.

And may i know why B Raman was called to visit china?
by kanu kangal on Aug 07, 2008 08:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why would anyone call an Indian to be a terrorism expert and visit their country?
All these self crowned expert have failed to quash terrorism in India. Every 6 month we have a blast in cities and there has been no arrest. Just speculation.
Time to kick these so called terrorism experts and bring in someone who would do something about it.
If you check other countries who have better track record of dealing with terrorism, there you do not have Mr. xyz terrorism expert, Mr. ABC bomb expert, Mr. LMN insurgency expert. What we need to have is a concrete system rather then this self crowned glorified Individual. This is a big problem in India instead of having procedure and system we depend too much on a individual or a leader.

Few people who are the so-called terrorism experts can only do so much. They cannot accomplish everything and completely eliminate terrorism. It is the job of the police and intelligence agencies. Your response is highly emotional.

missed opportunity
by Bhavik Babaria on Aug 07, 2008 07:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

why should the candid people like B Raman go to china to give expert advice on so called uneffective, baseless view on terrorism.

Our external affairs seems to be so much of an influenced proceedings. They seem to get carried away so easily by the flambouyance of Beijing Olympics to forget some sort of smartness, trickiness.

China is the same nation supplying pakistan with weapons of mass destruction, supporting pakistan in kashmir issue.

But things can't get well for india. As ur leaders resembles sleeping beauties knowing only present and having absolutely no idea about past experience.

It was an missed opportuinity by indian authorities and B Raman to have a an extreme crack at China's support towards pakistan abt kashmir issue where ISLAMIC TERRORISM has occured.

India badly needs acrimonious speech against china RELENTHLESSLY TILL OLYMPIC GETS OVER.

B.Raman is looking out for himself. He is a retired official. Nobody will care about him as years go by. He is taking advantage of whatever importance he is getting now for lime light. That is all.

Only de-Indianised editors of Rediff can carry this kind of drivel. There is no sense of nationalism or patrotism at all in these people. They are drowning in their own greed.
