If Karnataka rather than a Gateway for BJP into South India was to be their Graveyard then.....
by Pop Head on Apr 30, 2008 12:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Deccan-Herald pre-poll survey that BJP is not only a Lingayat party but that too confined to Mumbai-Karnataka region, where they are expected to sweep. This is the region where Lingayats concentrate in high numbers.

The Congress is main challenger to the BJP in this region. Consequently if all non-Lingayats in that region consolidate their voting around Congress than BJP will be practically wiped out from Karnataka competing with minor parties like SP, JD(U), BSP for third place.

Missing Most Important Statement

Here is the most Important missing statement...
from ibnlive.com :

However, over 33 per cent of the electorate stated they were still undecided about their voting preferences, indicating the contest is still open.

Rediff should do homework properly

Sundar, that's not what CNN-IBN data showed. The 33% who were open to reconsider their voting were mostly past voters of the BJP and the JD(S).

Read it again carefully. There is no reference for BJP or JD(S) voters. It is overall figure. CNN-IBn has not done this survey at such micro-level at this stage.

Simple logic: Had these 33% voters were of BJP and JD(s) , contest wouldnot have open as suggested by CNN-IBN itelf.

Here lies the text
--------------------------------------
The opinion poll also suggests the BJP does not appear to have gained much from the voters%u2019 sympathy at the way its government was brought down. However, over 33 per cent of the electorate stated they were still undecided about their voting preferences, indicating the contest is still open

Not suggestive. To determine swings, surveys has their samples who they voted last time round.

Since most of these voters voted last time for BJP or JD(S), then this means trouble for both these parties. Past analysis of daya shows that these undecided voters usually vote more or less the same way as the decided sections

1.      How can you refer these 33 percent voters as BJP JD-S voters?.Where is the reference in survey/report which says that 33 percent of past BJP , JD-S voters have yet to decide.
2.      Why Survey is saying : indicating the contest is still open: Why survey is talking about OPEN when it is clear that Congress is clear cut gainer .

Why are you against facts. Is it fair for the ?political parties to use their clout over media to have their messages passed on to the public?
