It is not ture. There are many places in world where people of certain religion are allowed so why big fuss??. In Kasmir just now a Molvi issued a fatwa that Army should not help in rebuilding Mousque so why the FUSS only on a Hindu tradition??

RE:Why always a christian is involved in a Hindu temple controversy in Kerala
by jai nirody on Jun 04, 2007 08:00 PM  Permalink
I fully support your views. Why not Christian women as priests? How about Muslim women leading prayers in mosques? It is not Vylar Ravi but the "secular" Congress which is taking advantage to score some political points. The supreme court says that there should be a common civil code while the muslims flatly refuse to listen. Have you ever heard the congressmen talking about the "Arrogant Islamists"????? That is secularism in India!!! Deride the Hindus and catch the "secular" votes! Congress and commies are taking India down the "secular" and "casteist" drain!

Three Wrong Points in the Article
by Rohit on Jun 04, 2007 07:41 PM  Permalink

The first one is saying Nair and Namboodthiri, both aare matriarchal, which is not the case. Namboothiri, the Kerala Brahmin follows Patriarchism.

The second one is saying Guruvayoorappan is an avatar of Lord Krishna. He is not considered as avtar of Krishna, but Krishna himself, more specifically Krishna as an infant.

And the third is Ravi saying the whole issue is because he is of backward caste Ezhava. The issue was his wife being Christian and Hindu Temples in Kerala does'nt allow non hindus to enter temple premises.

So his son was not considered a Hindu because his mother was Christian.

Ravi has every right to feel aggrieved but being a responsibe citizen and a leader of status he should not distort facts ang give it a casteist colour. Especially in Kerala's background where casteism is not at all prevelant.

RE:JESUS THE REAL BRAHMIN
by Rohit on Jun 04, 2007 07:44 PM  Permalink
We can believe in Jesus, or Adonyss, or Mithras, or Osiris. The last three were all dying and resurrecting gods before Jesus. All have December 25th as birth date. All dies on Friday. What good choice !!!

Mr. Ravi I support you and I am a Brahmin.
by Sunil Marathe on Jun 04, 2007 07:41 PM  Permalink

Mr. RAvi, you have my support on this and probably you will be glad to know that I am brahmin. I hope each brahmin and upper caste understands Hindu religion properly and treats everybody equally. Also people from other religions must be welcomed to our religion and I am sure this will happen very soon.

Regards.

Measure with same yardstick
by Anand VG on Jun 04, 2007 07:41 PM  Permalink

Recently the grand Mufti of Kashmir issued a fatwa prohibiting non muslims from bulding mosques as the army wanted to do so as part of the Sadbhavana operation. Has the governement considered this arrogance of the Imams?

Why dont you measure the sentiments of all religions with same yard stick. If you want to condemn, please condemn both the actions.
