We broadminded Hindus must give Tamil Nadu style public sector reservations to SC/ST/BC/OBCs/Tribals and also give such reservations in PRIVATE SECTOR. And also clean Dalit toilets just like Gandhi, who was the greatest Hindu. Then nobody will convert to Christianity or Islam. It is very simple. In any case, it is written in our own scriptures that "IN KALIYUGA, CHANDALA WILL RULE OVER BRAHMIN". So our Karma is to diligently clean Dalit toilets for several lifetimes and Yugas so that we can hope to be born as a Dalit who enjoys reservations after several births. This is the right thing to do. Stop fighting Hindu brothers. Already Brahmins are doing the job of Kshatriyas by joining Army and doing the job of Vaishyas by doing business like Infosys Narayanamurthy. So there is no harm if Brahmins clean the toilets of Dalits. After all, they use Harpic to clean the toilets in their own houses. our Lord Ram ate "Jhute Bair" (Half eaten berries ) of a Sweeper lady "Sabri". So what is the harm if all upper castes cleaning Dalit toilets just like Gandhi?
Guruvayoor temple is not a private temple unlike some of the temples in TN. It is under the Devaswam Board and is hence subservient to its diktats. Mr Ravi's son should take the Devaswam Board to court as the Tantri's are following the Devaswam Boards rules as laid out and the temple customs which have been practised for a long time.
Many orthodox Muslim mosques do not allow non-muslims to enter the premises as certain physical cleaning procedures which are done by Muslims are not done by non-muslims.
If the Temple behaved one way when the Srilankan President and his wife entered the premises and behaved another way in case of Vayalar Ravi, then there is a clear case of discrimination and if proved so, their behaviour is culpable under law. However, if they did not know that SL Prezs wife was a Christian it is another issue altogether. How does the temple find out if someone who enters is a Hindu? Is this arbitrary? Recently, a friend of mine went with his family to perform the annaprasnam for his son. The family included a lady who was a Christian. All went inside, came out and there was no questions asked!

Why don't you nationalise mosques and churches also? Just like Muslims get Haj subsidy!!!!

Thats why the devaswom board are rules by idiots. They have to invent some softare to detect who are hindus and who are not. stupid bunch of jokers.
The temples have been following the age old rituals and they better continue to follow. As per Hinduism, a person should be born a Hindu, and just by marrying a Hindu a Christian would not become a Hindu. Can Mr.Ravi prove that he did not become a christian to marry one. I think it would not be possible. Because of these temples the age old hindu traditions are still alive. If not all these anti-brahmins would have removed Hinduism from the face of earth by now. There are many churches and mosques who don't allow Hindus into them. Please go only to those places where you are wanted, don't create unnecessary issues. Already the scantitiy of temples in Tamil Nadu is at stake, with non-brahmin pujaris entering the temples. I am not a brahmin, but I will not go to a temple where the priest is a non-brahmin.
Like somebody said let Mr. Ravi keep his mouth shut. He is a member of Congree Party and he they can only talk like this. First they talk about religion, then about caste then sub caste, then a section of sub caste ... so on. Every religious structure has its own principles - if people cannot accept it - they do not have any right to talk in public about rules and regulations. That is the end to this discussion. Reservation comes handy for these some called politicians and cheap publicity - let these peole do some good things to common man and gain popularity.
RE:RE:CAN RAVI SAY THIS TO MUSLIMS TO ALLOW ENTRY FOR ALL IN MOSQUES
by Anjana Mathur on Jun 04, 2007 08:24 PM Permalink
Are muslims in india denied entry to mosques?
The real problem here is caste and religion. Guruvayur temple authorities always upholds several norms when it comes to non hindus. Remember saying things like 'I can imagine they are practicing this in 21st century' dosent change anything. Customs have survived for several years and will continue in future too. I belive brahmins created a strict code to enter the temple, for instance only higher castes who used to be NEAT in past. This makes sense as they believed only the purest enter the temple. If they had allowed all people, then Guruvayur would smell bad. So we are in 21st century and should have new laws which makes sure that only people neat enough should enter the temple premises, rather than not allowing non hindus. I belive decision to let other castes enter guruvayur was very challenging for temple authorities, if they have accepted that then they better do more changes. Guruvayurappan is everyones lord, its not exclusively for higher castes or religion.

Mr. Rajaram, If you read the article patiently you will understand that the problem is that the family is not purely Hindu. There is no mention abt lower caste. Mr.Ravi is a politician and he knows that Muslims & Xians wont care a damn abt his current issue. So he is raking up this issue to get support. As usual theliberal minded Hindus will jump in and the other communities will be laughing all the way to their reservations. Already there are reports that the actual Hindu population is mroe close to 60% as the converted people arent changing their religion that easily due to losing their oBC status. So the need of the hour is that all Hindus come together to safeguard the pillars of Hindu faith like these temples. Can u imagine a Muslim raising this kind of issue. Next moment there will eb a fatwa and the bearded fellas will gather around and torch the fella who has raised the complaint. No Hindu priest can do that which is why the more we need to support the faith and the priests who carry on with tradition. The politicans are trying to destroy the Hindu edifices because they dont want us to unite.

I personally feel that no one should be treated like Ravi was treated but he must have not made this as a caste issue..

You miss the forest from the trees. The essential question is are all Hindus "clean" as you say? Is that the criterion to thus prevent entry? Most of the people who go into the temple do go in after proper ablutions, but recently, I was told that one could smell alcohol in the breath of Police personnel who were on civil dress and assigned to the temple duty. Best is to allow entry to everyone and perform cleansing rituals on ALL days :)

I had recently read, in Medeival period The Church had burned 500000 freethinking women on stakes. And I also read they had burnt The Great Bruno alive. Is that right ?
And during Albygensian Crusade they killed 20000 Christains to get kill 200 Cathars who they thought are heretical. Is that right Mr. Willliams ?

Please that is a pre-independence era movie. Just because some such incidents happen somewhere, that can not be equated to Hinduism. Are you an America? If yes, can you say that discrimination does not exist in America?

Here is a funny answer i always get when i dig deep: GOD IS WHO CREATED HIMSELF AND CREATED HIS CREATIONS. now dont ask how a creater can create himself and create others :)
RE:who created god?

no one created the GOD. GOD himself alone who has entire power to control each and everything.
If GOD created by someone, it means someone has power than GOD. It is not a meaning of GOD.
Disobeying 'own'or 'others' " faiths IS A TOTAL ARROGANCE! 'SECULARISM NEVER MESNT THAT! WE HAVE SEEN MANY MANY MISINTERPRETATIONS! I CAN PROVE ,THERE ARE 72 WAYS OFINTERPRETING 'SECULARISM' REVEALED BY A UN STUDY! APART FROM THAT, THIS INCIDENCE BRINGS UP SOMETHING MORE , VERY DEEP! As the cat is half out of the bag, I think this matter should not be instigated further!
