This issue has been made out of proportion purely for political purposes. They were not allowed into the temples because of their christian lineage and not because of the fact that they were untouchables. Even today famous singer Yesudas is not allowed to go into Guruvayyur temple not because he is a dalit but because he is a christian.
Mr Ravi should not try to divide the country for his own political gains. It is very sad that people like Mr Ravi that the country is torn apart.
Please for Gods sake restrain from making such damaging statements.

Country was already divided by your forefathers when they created caste system. Blame them!!! Ravi is correct in his assessment.

The Brahmins did not create caste system. You have no knowledge of history. The caste system evolved by itself depending the nature of work one was carrying out at that time. God did not create Brahmins first, khstriya next Sudras, last. Do not argue with half knowledge that suits you.
The first one is saying Nair and Namboodthiri, both aare matriarchal, which is not the case. Namboothiri, the Kerala Brahmin follows Patriarchism.
The second one is saying Guruvayoorappan is an avatar of Lord Krishna. He is not considered as avtar of Krishna, but Krishna himself, more specifically Krishna as an infant.
And the third is Ravi saying the whole issue is because he is of backward caste Ezhava. The issue was his wife being Christian and Hindu Temples in Kerala does'nt allow non hindus to enter temple premises. So his son was not considered a Hindu because his mother was Christian.
Ravi has every right to feel aggrieved but being a responsibe citizen and a leader of status he should not distort facts ang give it a casteist colour. Especially in Kerala's background where casteism is not at all prevelant.
And besides all Guruvaayoor Temple gets frequent terrorist threats. Allowing any Tom Dick and Haarry to the centureis old shrine is non acceptable.
And temples in Kerala adhere to strong rituals like not allowing people to have non veg food and go inside it. Non Hindus won't adhere to such strict regimen.

The cricketer Sreesanth regularly visits a certain church in Cochin. According to your logic, he should be kicked out. If Christians followed the example set by Hindu priests, he should be denied entry. What a shame! Christians are not ashamed of what takes place in churches. Why are Hindus so ashamed and secretive about what goes on in their temples? In the days of the British, Indians were denied entry to British clubs. What right do we have to complain about that, if that is exactly what we are doing now?

Modern mathematics & numbering system weren't founded by one person and most certainly "Hindus" alone. True - some Hindus had some contributions and lots of other people of various religions & atheists had much bigger contributions. Anyways....dude seriously STOP looking at everything from RELIGION goggles.
And if we started looking at Laws of Motions, Electromganetic theory (much of which is the fundamental for most industrial applications)........you would be proved wrong. It is amazing how people can look at even science through the narrow prism of religion.
Ravi is clearly trying to divert the issue in to Casteism to gain milaege. The cleaning ceremony was done not becuz Ravi is a Ezhava, but becuz Ravi is married to a Chritian.
Well, that doesnt really substatiate the cliam of Tantris....No shashtra says if a non hindu enters temple thn the temple become impure..
True that Non Hindus have no business in temple, if they dont have Bhakthi; but any one with true devotion to Guruvayoorappan shd be allowed in..The Lord will be happy to see those who have devotion in him.
From what Ravi says, it seems he has real devotion and the temple administration shd not have made a politics in this issue..
Kerala is still one of the most divided places in India , on the lines of caste that is. All the education story is crap. It is very surprising that even with so called total education , Kerala's political demographic is divided on caste lines. Namboodiri's still think they are royalty ( or atleast close to ) , Nairs & Menons think they have seeds of Brahamanism ( not sure if sambandham is still prevalent ) and Ezhavas dont give a damn for the above two castes. They are intoxicated in the new riches they have embarked upon.
Vivekananda was right when he said that Kerala is a mental asylum. This is even true today.

Your ignorance and prejudice are phenomenal. There are women priests in churches. Any women priests in temples? Forget about women, there are even homosexual priests in churches. Any non-Brahmin priests in the Guruvayoor temple? Is there any other country other than India that has such an elaborate caste-based apartheid system? What have Hindu priests not dismantled it? Why have so many Dalits converted to Buddhism recently?
If Hinduism is not reformed, it will not survive the 21st century. PS: We know about the illicit activities of at least tow Shankaracharyas, and one thantri was caught red-handed in a flat with a madam, so don't get so hot about Divine Nagar.

@sanjay choudhry "There are women priests in churches" Can you tell me the name of only one?
Sanjay - Are you interested in knowing that? Let me guess, you want to do your best to go and attack those churches OR you want to sling more mud and misinformation?
There is a church called Jacob Chamberlian Church in a town called XYZ (in Chittoor) district. I won't give out what XYZ is, seriously your intentions dont look good. Anyway that Church has a woman priest in India as do several others, the names of which I do not know.
