One should really appreciate Vayalar Ravi and his wife for bringing up their children as per their family tradition and when someone insults and doubts our very own basic beliefs, one has got every right to counter that legally. Faith is a personal issue and for public figures like celebrities and politicians it is no more personal.
Faith and religion are two different things. Faith can span across the religions and it is finally for the good of the human beings.

V RAVI DONOT HAVE GALLS TO GO TO COURT.
BECAUSE COURT WILL THROW OUT HIS PETITION. IT CANNOT ASK A TEMPLE WHAT TO DO IN A SECULAR STATE.
LOTS OF CATS WILL COMEOUT FROM THE WHOLE INCIDENT. COURT MAY ORDER WHO WENT TO THE TEMPLE WITH HIM, AND PEOPLE WILL KNOW THAT HIS XTIAN WIFE ACCOMPANIED HIM.
SO, HE WILL POSTURE IN THE PRESS. BUT HE DON;T HAVE GUTS TO GO TO COURT.

By Law you have to treat everyone equally. If he can prove non-hindus have been allowed before without a fuss.. he has a serious case re: discrimination. I know 3 prominent non-hindus allowed in .. all Christians..

It is very much within the jurisdiction of courts. Equity and Fairness = Justice. Either Non-HIndus are not allowed or they are allowed. The Board cant chose the Christians it allows.

This incident speaks in volume how narrow the minds of certain "Upper Caste" communities in Kerala still are,even after having vibrant progressive movements,100% literacy and relations with different cultures and people for 1-2 millenneum.
Sri Ravi comes from Ezhava community which is a progressive,modern and secularHindu community who have been kept as 'Avarna' and untouchables by the manipulative moves of a minority who came from the North(around Vindhya,I guess) and took over the societal control of Kerala in the 6th or 7th century.Nairs,who belong to the Shudra layer in Chaturvaryam and Ezhavas(avarnas) have no difference as far as physical features ,ancestry etc are concerned,even though Nairs became the pets of the Brahmins and Kshatrias for reasons like sambhandam(an arrangement in which Brahmins and Kshatrias could enter into conjugal rights with Nair women;though the offsprings remained untouchables to the Upper caste father),martial expertise etc.If you compare the living conditions of any other Sudra in India and the Nair Sudra from Kerala,you will see the difference.
Sri Vayalar Ravi,Ezhavas should not feel they are untouchables etc no more,They decided not to join the Caste system of the Brahminical order,but progressed very well as modern outlook and practising secularism with professions like Toddy making,Ayurveda,Sankrit teachers having littile kudipallikoodam(little schools)etc etc and their enterprising nature have made them come to the forefront now.
Answer. We would be divided on religion until religious deception ends.Dont be a hypocrite. You guys want a free reign at expense of hindu religion and culture. No brotherhood. Just pure measured caution against other relgions. I dont have anything against muslims as they are upfront in their dislikes.But gosh these xians...god save us from these dements.

As per those practices, even many of the Hindus do not qualify to enter the temples. If you want to worship God, you can do that anywhere, not just in a temple. To enter a temple, you must follow its rules. Only those who are pious, those who are vegetarian, do yoga and dhyaana (meditation), and so on are qualified to enter a temple. As per this, most of the Hindus too can not enter temples.

If we do not follow Hindusim to the core, the "God" we see in a temple is nothing more than a stone.
Most of us visit temples and these visits do not seem to have any beneficial effect on us. That is because we really do not lead a religious/spiritual life.
A temple can enrich us and add value to our life, only if really pious people enter it and worship there. If every Tom, Dick and Harry goes there, it will not have any effect on any one. It will be just one more building with a stone on which flowers are thrown and fire is lit. Nothing more than that ...

In US I was attending a Catholic Church service, though I am not a Catholic....I was pleasantly surprised the preacher praised the virtues of Mahatma Gandhi....."An eye for eye, will leave the whole world blind".......Isn't that praise enough of a Hindu social figure by a Christian priest OR Is that not good enough for you?

When you know not what christianity is about and not intersted in it. And dont want even a ounce of decency, knowledge, wisdom or humanity to enter your pea brain, why do you keep pasting comments which are instigating hatred.
Dont be a hatred instigating mongrel of the country. There are many people in India who truely understand the situation.
Unlike you who sits at 12:38 am and tries to prove every time how stuck you are in history. and nver in present and all you can do it write crap comments about islam and christianity.
Probablity of you writing against some other castes is not very possible when there is nothing to talk about islam or christians.
Atleast once for your own empty hearts sake. Go and try to find 30 good things about christianity.
Do be crazy, sitting alone on your desktop typing hatred comments on others. It is not good for your health in long run. You will turn out to be like Jykll and Hyde.
Go exercise, read soemthing positive. Help india to grow. Do something good for your community. Clean your house. Help someone.

Mr Ravi was not allowed to gain temple entry not because he was a dalit but because of being a christian. It has nothing to do with brahminical arrogance and all that. Its unfortunate that a politician is making such damaging statements. For your information I am not a brahmin but reading such statements shows how backward we are in our approach to a particular issue.
Other examples: Yesudas is not allowed to enter Guruvaiyur temple till today. Sabarimala temple was purified because Jayamala entered into that temple some 40 years back. Now Jayamala's controverysy is not because of her caste but because she is a woman and women are not allowed into sabarimala at a certain age and the list goes on. Muslim ladies are not allowed into mosque for prayers. Christian ladies are not allowed to become popes and so on and so forth. Now we have to debate on all these issues. But let us not politicise issues. We have other pressing issues like poverty, poor infrastructure, lack of sanitation etc.
