GURUVAYUR TEMPLE
by K. MAHENDRA MENON on Jun 05, 2007 09:44 AM  Permalink

Shri. Vayalar Ravi was also an active constituent of the State Congress of Kerala that intermittently ruled the State. Why did the Government not bring in a law which allow entry of worshippers from all religions in the Hindu temples? The Priests are abide by traditional regulations and practices. But, the Devasom Board can always amend them whenever they find them outdates and unjustifiable. Let the present Government come foward and bring a bill and let the Devasom Authorities respectfully invite one of the very loyal devotees of Lord Guruvayurappan Shri. K. J. Yesudas.

It is your arrogance.
by YamChuk on Jun 05, 2007 09:42 AM  Permalink

I don't get it , why give a damn about what happens inside the temple .
Your job is just to offer your prayers and get the blessing , which you have got it .
What happens before and after that is non of your business . It is a temple tradition , just ignore it .
It is people like this minister who divide the nation with all these cheap talk .

'It is Brahminical arrogance'
by Raghunathan Nair on Jun 05, 2007 09:36 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Is it Vylar Ravi looking for implementing reservation in Guruvayoor temple also ? If so, let Ravi request Arjun Singh to do the needful since Arjun Singh is looking for more reservation opportunities rather than performing as Human Resources Minister. Why Ravi is making a hue and cry about the temple's priests performing pooja after their visit. Nothing is illegal in India now because everyone has their own agenda to divert the attention since these ministers are failed to their job.

Let all the political parties hands off from temple, church and masjid issues and allow the respective communities to handle their issues rather than greedy politicians making their view in public and instigating communal hatred.

Arjun, I really do not need your advise to be a human or inhuman. But let me make it clear that you people are the real culprits responsible for dividing this country on caste lines and not "Nairs".

Arjun can you raise your voice against muslims and christians ? Can you tell them try to be humans and not be a Muslims and Christians.

I do not think yoiu are good enough to give me advise what I should do or should not.

The real problem is that Hindus are giving too much respect to other communities and taking it granted. If we don't react to the situations others will jump on the head and sit after that we really do not have any choice.

Are you Arjun Singh or Vylar Ravi ? I think you are a liar and you are changing your original name. I do not think it is worth debating the issue with you since you are not worthy enough discuss it. I think you are mentally sick and better consult some good doctors so that they will be able to guide you for better treatment. Being a Nair, I am proud of myself and no shame at all.

There's a big conspiracy going on
by jaydeep dalwadi on Jun 05, 2007 09:21 AM  Permalink

I think there is a big conspiracy going on and carried out by Congress and its allies. During the NDA rule there was no reservation issue at all. Even dalits in some places of which I have account of are beleivers of hard work and progress and strongly deny any reservation.

But Can people see through? The moment Congress and its allies have assumed power there are lot of caste divide issue being brought in air.

I seriously feel that the vote bank which was of Congress till 1990s and which suddenly became voters of BJP are targetted.

I mean which party in India will benefit most out of caste divde? Congress again wants to divide and regain that place. Its a desperate attempt to save itself.

Hindus Plz react
by Manoj Kumar on Jun 05, 2007 09:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why the Govt gets involved with the devaswam issues here?? Why they dont get involved in the running of churches and Mosques. Why we have a ministry for dewaswam ( Temple Admin) and why dont we have one for church and Mosque admin. Is it because if the politicians get involved in Churches and Mosques the respective religions wud not tolerate the same? So Hindus are the most idiotic and most un united religious class in the world?? Hindus all over the world plz unite, plz do not tolerate such unwanted elements in our places of worship. VHP , RSS why you guys are not reacting?? That idiot Sudakaran if he agian open his mouth on who should enter a temple and how the temples shud be run we shud teach him a lesson

Matter of faith
by on Jun 05, 2007 09:13 AM  Permalink

The place of worship in Kerala follows a set of procedures laid down by the predessors. If Mr. Ravi believes in God in any form, he should not question the proceedure followed in any temple for the simple reason that the proceedure is followed for all devotees. Mr. Ravi cannot claim exemption since he will be setting a bad precedent. Since he is a public figure, the media has highlighted the matter and hence he feels embarassed. There had been punyaham regularly and no individual had gone to court objecting this. As regards "arrogance", please note you are offending a particular community, which had been a very tolerant community as compared to other communities in Kerala. Please don't offend a community for and issue purely related to a religious institution.

Reminders of past slavery

Why is this caste system taking prominence today
by chandan kini on Jun 05, 2007 09:10 AM  Permalink

Dear All,

Dont u think that as educated Indians we should all rise above this and embrace people of all castes as hindus... first the 27% caste based reservation in colleges introduced by the government... then the gujjars demanding reservation and now this... coming from a union minister's mouth... dont you all see a pattern here...

we are being played into the hands of the politicians who are following the patter followed by the British Raj... do we expect to develop if the topics we discuss and debate over do not come above petty issues like caste...

i'm a brahmin by birth so it may seem that the words coming from my mouth is insensitive or some other crap... but then i have never made any difference between castes..

please tell me whether we should buy what these politicians are feeding us with....
