We have enough subjects on the notice boards daily. Sohrabuddin, Gujjar-Meena, Vayalar Ravi etc. etc.. India is very rich in terms of hot news, if not economically. Waa India...
It is ironical that today Vayalar Ravi is been asked to prove that he is a Hindu. What non-sense, if he believes he is a hindu, just accept it. Hinduism is a way of life and it is not somebody who determines his faith. Entire temple tradition and priests of Kerala must be ashmed of their behaviour. Ravi rightly says it is arrogance. But I would say please do not bring any caste like Brahmin as I have seen this type of atrocities being done by the other castes towards the lower caste. I hate this entire caste system. We are all first human beings, secondly Indians and then comes the religion, caste, etc. As Anand Iyer says it correct that the priests of Guruvayur temple must be thrown out and should be banned from entering any temple as they have voilated the preechings of Lord Krishna whom they worship.
Dear Vayalar Ravi we are all in support of you, please do fight for your rights and for your community. A massive change is needed so that Hinduism servives for ever. "Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitaha". Today your fight is to save the Dharama. Please do fight.
Its sad that religion is the cause of peace and war - not literally here , but its a sort thats created between religions. Look at the way we live today , stressed out with work , all we want is some peace of mind at the end of the day. Who are preists (of any religion) to decide who is pure and who is not . They are humans themselves and impure too. We are all made equal , i dont know why we Indians have such a stupid notion about racism and caste system even in today's day and age. No wonder we can never progess in a way that we ideally should. Its deplorable to find people fighting on issued that are do detrimental to society rather that channelising those same energies towards more socially and economically beneficial causes. Its these things that make me feel embarassed to call myself an Indian. And even though our elders are those who teach us a lot , they are the ones to blame because they seed the thoughts of inequality and caste in the children's mind. A child is so unbiased but as he grows he becomes so because of what is taught at home. Give it a thought and change. its high time we indians grow up

Bhagavat Gita and all the hindu documents have lot of contradictions. However, one thing is sure, it is highly biased and pro-brahmin. If all the people were treated equally, can you tell me why 'Sambooka' a sudra, who tried to learn veda was killed by none other than the Maryada Purushottam Ram. Get better handle on things before you get on with the arguments.

If criticism is justified, I will think and even accept it and even chage things which r in my power. If it is baseless, I will refute it. I do not have to defend anything regarding hinduism.

"This was done to prevent Christian missionaries from frequenting the temple premises and converting them". What nonsense!!!! So u say that all conversion activities take place within the temple and if they r banned in temple, no conversion would take place. If u want to stop conversions: 1.Clean up hindu practices(i.e. bring them in accordance with Bhagvad Gita). Dump trashbook Manusmriti. 2.Make hindu people aware about what other religions preach. Point out to them that no purpose is served by conversion. Instead they should stay within hinduism and fight evil.
"muslim rulers like Tipu Sultan had plundered the Guruvayoor temple". So pulndering hordes take permission of temple authorities to enter the temple? Make security arrangements then. Frisk everyone who enters the temple as they do in Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai.
"But no politican will dare criticise the mullahs who issue fatwas at the drop of the hat. Or the church in Kerala which managed to block the probe into the murder and rape of Sister Abhaya.". Yeah! They deserve to be criticised. But how about making "Hinduism Shining"????

Boycott that religion which says that humanity should be classified into "believers" and "unbelievers" and the believers should catch and kill unbelievers wherever they r. Boycott that religion which inspires its followers to kill innocent civilians in the name of the Almighty. Boycott that religion which inspires its adherents to be suicide bombers.
REdiff moderator- I am compelled to say these things becoz of ramprasad's comments.
A note of one Mr. Methala Kumar. Brahmins migrated to Kerala in 8-11 centuries. They were welcomed by local chieftains and kings and entrusted with priestly functions in temples. Naturally they allowed only chieftains and their militia to attend the rituals. The low caste people were kept away.
The militia was composed of low caste people. Elamkulam Kunhan Pillai inferred that Nairs could entitle their ancestry from Pulayas. He also commented that it was no wonder because Darwin found human origin from monkey! Elamkulam also added that Anchuvannam and Manigram traders from Alexandria and West Asia might have joined the Nair community. The probability of Anchuvannam and Manigram traders being drawn into Nair community was remote. These West Asians, Jews and Greeks were given positions in the palaces and there were chances for being intermingled with the local militia. The traders from West Asia came over to Kerala even from BC 500. Muziris [ Kodungallur ] was full of these traders. Elamkulam noted that these traders were respected by the locals. The Greeks and the Jews among these traders accepted the Christian faith probably on ST.Thomas' arrival in 52 AD. No reasonable man thinks that these people yearned for entry into temples as they had their own places of worship. In 'Kerala charithram Marxist Veekshanathil' EMS wrote that Namboodiris despised these Christians as "Mlechhanmar". Some Namboodiri families were believed to have accepted Christian faith. This would
Never i have see Mr Vayalar Ravi, getting into Kerala Headlines, or National news channel, and the good way is to just play something, that tunes with hindu sentiments. So Mr Ravi and family racking in that oppurtunity. And his son also singing along to make his future presence in Kerala politics , since india easy way to win elections is to play the caste song.Hats of Mr Ravi, but do't forget you are doing it at the cost of your Faith on the Lord.
