Mercy indeed
by HHH on Jun 05, 2007 06:32 PM  Permalink

Good that the xian mercy did not enter temple. You think she did us a favor by not entering or that she was cared of hindus rasing a hue and cry about it. Baloney. She did not enter the temple because she is an xian. It would have been against her cult to enter the heathen place of worship. It is time that ravi stopped acting pathetic loser and get to terms with reality.Mercy is a practicing xian and in the same faith dungeon as any other xian moron

What a stupidity ''Baptism''
by simpal sharma on Jun 05, 2007 06:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If a person has been baptized once , cannt be allowed to enter a temple.
I want to make a mark here.
By heart I was always non-believer Hindu but a vegetarian and believer in BhagwadGita.I just wanted to play with Christianity for a while, so I did.
I got baptized here in UK in Catholic church,Father did some stupid water rituals, I was laughing at heart when He was doing all stupid. Then after 2 months I went to anglican church, I told the pries that I am interested in Anglican church , but have ben baptized as Catholic. He said he will manage. I got baptized me to anglican. one month later i went to Seventh day adventist church, They said its stupid ritual.Dont believe anything like this.

I had my fun and I am hindu as I was always.Have fun with these stupid fathers of al churches. Its good time pass. Anyway Jesus died long back. He is definitely not alive. I have many British friends here who make joke of all these churches.

Vaylar Ravi has committed no sin if his son got baptized. let him enter temple.getting baptized is like going to Loo.

To you Religion is a joke....thank you, but keep it to yourself please. "Taking in holy water is as good as going to loo"- according to you. Good - I feel that you deserve to drink the loo water only instead of going to church or any place of worship to seek God.
Going to a church and geting ' baptised' was a past time for you. Please keep this for your self and do not go around calling yourself a ' simpal sharma'....You are not....!!!! You are a DISGRACE to Hinduism and also to any religion, you convert yourself to.......

RE:Time for hindus to stand up together...
by Vas on Jun 05, 2007 06:04 PM  Permalink
The Indian churches are some of the most wealthiest institutions in the country, considering they receive massive fundings from churches in the west for their evangelical/missionary activities. If the state governments need to boost their coffers, why don't they take over church land and assets? Or, are only the hindus subject to harassment? They can steal from the hindus, but don't dare to lay their hands on the christians. They know that the churches will come down heavily on them if they dared to take over church lands and property, whereas hindus will say and do nothing about it. Its about time that hindus were as aggressive as the christians are in defending their religion and institutions. The christian will not hesitate to kill or commit murder if he thinks for second that his rights are being threatened. That aggression and physical violence is what keeps the governments from taking over church lands and questioning church laws and rules. Hindus need to get more aggressive.

Is your wife a Christian or a Hindu now?
by Dheeraj Akula on Jun 05, 2007 05:50 PM  Permalink

Dear Mr. Vayalar Ravi,

Is your wife a Christian or a Hindu now?

You said your wife "attends" all pujas at home and also "performs" pujas. So, she is a Hindu. Did she voluntarily convert into a Hindu because she is impressed by the greatness of Hinduism or did you force her?

Does your wife go to Church? Does she read bible? Is she still a Christian or did she stop being a Christian?

Temples have customs not to allow non-Hindus. You need to respect those customs. You can't mould a temple according to your thoughts. You must mould yourslef according to the temple's customs.

If you want to worship God, you can worship him anywhere in any form, not just in a temple.

You seem to have no respect for temples. You just want to politicise the issue.

To all the SCIENTIFIC and LOGICAL idiots
by Dheeraj Akula on Jun 05, 2007 05:32 PM  Permalink

Albert Einstein said, "When I read the Bhagavad Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous."

I hope the scientific and logical idiots here are not more scientific and logical than Einstein.

Brahminical Arrogance
by Shiva Bhat on Jun 05, 2007 05:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Ravi,

It is your faith in Hinduism that took u to Guruvayur if u accept this, then u should also accept that people who had performed the purification ceremony also did it in their good faith and u should not complain.

Mrs. Mercy Ravi had attended the NDTV show where i was in the audience and she had talked about the costume regulations at Guruvayur, pls understand by letting the other religion people this is what is going to happen. today they raise their voice against costume and tommorrow for some other reason and hinduism cannot suffer for one person. Dont force people to do it also, this country is already threading on thin line of communal harmony and if somebody of other religion knowingly or unknowingly does some wrong who is responsible for the after math?

If Your faith is really true and good, have belief ur prayers will always be answered. Do not be disturbed by these things, appreciate them who atleast follow the culture and remember temples are places of worship and not picnic places as your Wife meant in the NDTV show.

RE:Brahminical Arrogance
by Vas on Jun 05, 2007 05:47 PM  Permalink
It is ironic that Mrs. Ravi is complaining about dress codes in temples. Nearly all churches have strict dress code regulations throughout world. You cannot enter in shorts (even if it falls below the knees), sandals, dresses that are above knee length, etc. In many churches, women are not allowed to enter in trousers, and must wear skirts/dresses with hemline below the knees. The list of DOs and DONTs in entering churches is quite long. In India, all the large churches are very strict. Yet, this woman complains about dress codes in Indian temples. Methinks that this is some christian conspiracy to break hinduism from all levels. I'm pretty sure that she has the backing of christian church; otherwise, she as a catholic will not be so bold as to declare that she follows Hindus customs. I'm sure she knows that she will be persecuted by the catholic church, just as the singer Yesudas was persecuted by his church when he openly declared hs visits to Sabrimala.

Yes, I agree with you. There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that they are doing this for political reasons.

Either they have a backing from a church or as politicians, they want to raise a controversy.

They want to attack Hinduism. Hinduism may have its own problems like caste system, but this is no way to deal with it.

This is a planned attack on Hinduism.

That is exactly the point. Mrs. Mercy complained against the dress code at temple. The argument is churches also have dress codes, not just the temples.
